"Dicey Dungeons" is a unique roguelike game where players take on the role of a contestant in a game show run by Lady Luck. Navigate through whimsical dungeons, battle quirky enemies, and use dice to craft powerful abilities. With a blend of strategy and chance, each run offers a fresh experience as you unlock new characters and face challenging foes. Roll the dice and embrace the chaos in this charming, fast-paced adventure!

Features & Highlights

  • Unique Gameplay Mechanics: "Dicey Dungeons" combines classic RPG elements with a dice-rolling mechanic that adds a layer of strategy. For instance, when I faced a particularly tough boss, I had to carefully choose which dice to allocate to my attacks and defenses, making every roll feel crucial.
  • Variety of Characters: The game features multiple characters, each with unique abilities and playstyles. I found myself gravitating towards the Thief, whose ability to manipulate dice gave me an edge in tricky situations, allowing me to adapt my strategy on the fly.
  • Engaging Art Style: The vibrant, cartoonish graphics are not only visually appealing but also enhance the overall gaming experience. Each dungeon is beautifully designed, and I often found myself pausing just to admire the artwork before diving into the next challenge.
  • Replayability: With randomized dungeons and different character builds, "Dicey Dungeons" offers endless replayability. After completing my first run, I immediately wanted to try the game again with a different character, eager to explore new strategies and outcomes.
  • Challenging Yet Accessible: The game strikes a perfect balance between challenge and accessibility. I appreciated how the tutorial introduced me to the mechanics without overwhelming me, allowing me to enjoy the game right from the start.

I had to buy this as soon as I heard it had been released on Android. It's been out since 2019 on other platforms but always felt like it needed a smartphone version (I call these "play it on the bus" games), and now it's finally here. All the content (including the newly released free Reunion DLC) is here, no microtransactions (which should make it a good offline game) and plenty of content to keep you busy for a while. Highly recommended.

So good I bought it twice, both on PC and mobile for on-the-go while I was stuck in the hospital. I will probably buy this game for my friends in the future bc the devs deserve more money than they're asking for. This game is excellent as a casual game to pick up and play when you need to kill time, and easy to stop playing and resume later. Easy for casual players with surface level math ability to get into but still satisfying for hardcore strategy RPG gamers. No ads, no lootboxes, no BS.

I love the game and played on switch, but the constant crashing makes it an irritating and unplayable experience, especially if you try to play the game in any way other than hit the thing very hard with a big weapon, as the animations of effects like freeze seem to make the issue worse. This means that if you want to actually play this version, you will be doing the same thing over and over again, which gets very old very quickly.

This is a fun, fast and quirky strategy dice game that I consider a Slay the Spire lite like game. You delve into dungeons trying to make it to the end and kill the final boss. This uses varied and satisfying dice mechanics with unique classes, each with their own playstyles. Lots of dungeons for each class with increasing difficulty. DD also offers plenty of replayability. Many hours of fun for a great price. I highly recommend.

Fight your way through a dungeon but your ability is dependent on dice rolls and the 'cards/gear/abilities' you find/purchase along the way. No micro transactions. All with cheeky attitude and the ability to drop and pick up without losing progress. Also, not a battery or process hog. Other notes: Playful color palate and gracefully scaling gameplay mechanics as you get deeper into the game. Play styles differ between characters and more things happen as you progress. (no spoilers) 5 stars!
