4.1 DroidCam Webcam (Classic) is a versatile application that transforms your Android device into a high-quality webcam for your computer. This app is particularly useful for those who may not have access to a dedicated webcam or are looking for a more portable solution. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who frequently participates in online meetings and virtual events, I found myself in need of a reliable webcam solution. My laptop’s built-in camera was decent but lacked the quality I desired for professional interactions. That's when I discovered DroidCam Webcam (Classic). I started using it during my weekly team meetings, where I needed to present updates and engage with my colleagues. The app quickly became my go-to tool for video calls, especially when I wanted to showcase my workspace or demonstrate a new product. Additionally, I used it for casual video chats with friends and family, where the high-quality video made our conversations feel more personal and engaging.
The user interface of DroidCam is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate even for those who may not be tech-savvy. Upon launching the app, I was greeted with a simple layout that clearly displayed the connection options and settings. The setup process was a breeze; I just had to download the desktop client, connect my phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi network, and enter the provided IP address. The video quality was impressive, and I appreciated the ability to switch between the front and rear cameras with just a tap. Performance-wise, I experienced minimal lag, and the audio quality was crystal clear, which made my meetings much more productive. Overall, my experience with the app has been overwhelmingly positive, and I feel more confident during video calls knowing I have a reliable webcam solution at my fingertips.
DroidCam Webcam (Classic) is available for free, which is a fantastic deal considering the quality it offers. There is also a paid version that unlocks additional features, such as higher video resolutions and the removal of ads. I opted for the free version initially, and it met all my needs perfectly. However, I can see the value in upgrading if I require more advanced features in the future.
The developers of DroidCam are proactive in providing updates and support. I noticed that the app receives regular updates, which often include performance improvements and new features. The support documentation is comprehensive, with FAQs and troubleshooting tips readily available on their website. I also reached out to their support team with a minor query, and they responded promptly, which reassured me of their commitment to user satisfaction.
When it comes to security and privacy, DroidCam Webcam (Classic) takes several measures to protect its users. The app is available on both the Google Play Store and the App Store, which adds a layer of credibility as these platforms have their own security checks. Upon installation, I was required to grant certain permissions, such as access to the camera and microphone, which is standard for any webcam application. However, I appreciated that there were no intrusive ads or tracking behavior that could compromise my privacy. The app does not require any personal data for registration, which is a significant plus for users concerned about data privacy. Overall, I felt secure using DroidCam, knowing that my information was not being exploited.

Works very well. Have used it for many Zoom and Skype meetings and it is reliable. Never lost connection yet. You do have to manually open app on both phone and PC to use but it is not difficult. I had to Google how to set my phone for 'debugging' in order to connect it via USB. It also allows you to choose portrait or landscape and also let's you choose front or back camera. Almost gave it a 5.

Works well. You have to make sure that the phone app is already running and visible on the phone screen (not in just running in background) while you open the app on the computer or it will say it's an error, connection reset or lost. Once that is done the connection is very good, I've tried the usb and Wi-Fi connections. They had good video and audio. In the settings on my computer software I can choose which cell camera to use and computer or cell audio, so lots of options.

I needed a new camera for working from home during the pandemic and I found there was a webcam shortage. Then I found DroidCam. It worked exactly as advertised for me. It was more trouble to clear a spot on my desk and set up a phone mount than it was to get the app working. My only warning is that it can drain your battery quickly, so I recommend plugging it in while in use. I upgraded to the pro version for the additional features, and as a thanks to the devs.

Cannot rotate the camera, so I have to awkwardly hold my phone it in the air. Otherwise, I would be sideways. So I am using the computer one handed. The option to switch from front and back cameras is so cumbersome, because you have to turn the camera off, hit the menu, hit settings, scroll down, select camera, select front/back, go back and turn it on. Extremely time consuming if you are teaching and using it as a document camera back and forth quickly.

This is fantastic, it does exactly as it describes with little to no problems. Personally I'm a huge fan of how they do their "pro" app and how they do their ads. I don't need all the features of of the "pro" mode, so its nice being able to just use the free version to get video from your phone to your pc. And then I often use the hd video feature on my pc, and I absolutely have no issue trading 30 seconds of my time to watch an ad in return for receiving the hd video service. No complaints.
