4.5 Hulu has carved a niche for itself in the crowded streaming market, and it’s easy to see why. With a plethora of features designed to enhance the viewing experience, Hulu stands out as a go-to platform for TV shows and movies. Here are some of the core features that make Hulu a must-have app for entertainment lovers:
My experience with the Hulu app has been nothing short of delightful. I often find myself using it during my downtime at home, especially in the evenings after a long day at work. Whether I’m unwinding on the couch or enjoying a cozy night in with friends, Hulu is my go-to source for entertainment. I also use it while traveling; the ability to download shows and movies means I can enjoy my favorite content even when I’m on the go. Recently, I took a flight and downloaded a couple of episodes of a gripping series, which made the hours fly by.
The user interface of the Hulu app is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that showcases trending shows and movies, making it easy to find something to watch. The search function is robust, allowing me to quickly locate specific titles or explore genres. I appreciate the seamless workflow; I can easily switch between live TV and on-demand content without any hiccups. Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly, with minimal buffering even during peak hours. Overall, my feelings after using the app are overwhelmingly positive; it’s a reliable companion for my entertainment needs.
Hulu offers a variety of pricing plans to cater to different viewing preferences. The basic plan starts at a competitive rate, providing access to a vast library of content with ads. For those who prefer an ad-free experience, Hulu also offers a premium plan at a slightly higher price. Additionally, there are options for bundling Hulu with other services like Disney+ and ESPN+, which can be a great value for families or sports enthusiasts. Overall, I find the pricing to be reasonable considering the extensive content available.
Hulu frequently updates its app to enhance user experience and introduce new features. I’ve noticed improvements in the app’s performance and the addition of new content categories over time. The support team is responsive and helpful; I once had a question about my subscription, and they promptly addressed my concerns via their customer service chat. This level of support adds to my overall satisfaction with the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, and Hulu takes these concerns seriously. The app is available on official app stores like the App Store and Google Play, ensuring a safe download experience. When registering for an account, Hulu requires basic personal information, such as your email address and payment details, which is standard for streaming services. However, I appreciate that they have clear privacy policies in place, detailing how my data is used and protected.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, Hulu does display advertisements, especially on the lower-tier subscription plans. While this is expected, I was pleased to find that Hulu provides options to limit tracking and personalize ads based on my viewing habits. This transparency gives me peace of mind, knowing that my data is handled responsibly while still enjoying a tailored viewing experience.

The first 14-15 years of this app (or however long it's been out) have been fantastic. Unfortunately, I've been forcibly logged out several times a day for about 3-4 months now with no explanation. Hulu claims this has been normal if logged in on multiple (2+) devices, yet it's never happened before. It's not only annoying, but defeats the purpose of paying for the ability to download as the logging out process deletes all downloads, and in areas with no service, there is no alternative.

I'm giving 1 star because your subtitles suck. I mainly watch K dramas, and I watch them on multiple apps, and I have to say, subtitles are really , REALLY bad on your app. Half of the time they don't appear and I'm left not knowing what was said. Or they're so quick , it's just a flash on the screen. For the amount of money you charge to use the app, you should have way better quality subtitles. It also glitches, a lot.

This app doesn't keep your place. So you have to skip around to find it. An ad break with every click of the screen. I've watched up to 10 minutes of ads, just to find where I left off. Worse, it signs you out of the app while watching. In the middle of a show, it just throws you out. Then emails that someone signed in to your acct each sign-in. Edit..Now they've taken up the same "cause" as Disney. One that I want no part of. And I certainly won't support it with my money. Last straw. I'm out.

The Hulu app is fairly decent on a mobile device, but terrible on tvs. Recordings are impossible to delete & voice is never in sync with video. Also, Hulu keeps losing good shows to other platforms. Every time we like a show and watch it for a year or two, suddenly the show is bought out by Paramount+ or another subscriber platform. Hulu keeps going up on price but has less and less of the popular programs available and terrible technology. Disney is going to put itself out of the market.

The amount of ads in this PREMIUM subscription service is nuts as well as their placement. You can be watching an old show that has natural breaks for commercials but they'll stick ads in the MIDDLE OF A SENTENCE. Then, after watching multiple minutes of ads, you rewind to watch the scene uninterrupted and guess what? The ads replay at the exact same spot. And then, less than 5 minutes later, multiple more ads. I paid for a subscription to watch content. Not constant ads. Unsubscribing.
