4.4 My daily routine is often hectic, filled with work commitments and personal errands. However, I always carve out time for reading, and that's where the Kobo app shines. During my morning commute, I dive into an eBook on my tablet, immersing myself in a captivating story while navigating the bustling city. Once I arrive at the office, I switch to my smartphone to continue reading during my lunch break. In the evenings, I often listen to an audiobook while preparing dinner, allowing me to unwind after a long day. The versatility of the Kobo app fits seamlessly into my lifestyle, making it my go-to reading companion.
The user interface of the Kobo app is intuitive and visually appealing. Upon opening the app, I am greeted with a clean layout that showcases my current reads and recommendations. Navigating through the library is a breeze, thanks to the well-organized categories and search functionality. I appreciate the smooth transition between reading and listening modes, which enhances my overall experience. The app's performance is stellar; I have yet to encounter any lag or crashes, even when multitasking. Overall, using Kobo feels like having a personal library at my fingertips, and I genuinely enjoy the reading experience it offers.
Kobo offers a variety of pricing options, including the ability to purchase individual eBooks and audiobooks at competitive prices. Additionally, they provide a subscription service called Kobo Plus, which allows unlimited access to a vast selection of titles for a monthly fee. This flexibility caters to different reading habits, whether you prefer to buy books outright or explore a broader range of titles through a subscription. I find the pricing reasonable, especially considering the quality and variety of content available.
Kobo frequently updates its app to enhance user experience and introduce new features. I appreciate the regular improvements, which keep the app fresh and functional. The support team is responsive and helpful; I once had a question about syncing issues, and they promptly provided a solution. The availability of a comprehensive FAQ section within the app also makes it easy to find answers to common queries. Overall, I feel supported as a user, which adds to my positive experience with Kobo.
As an American user, I prioritize security and privacy when using apps, and Kobo does not disappoint. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring a secure download from trusted sources. When registering, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my email address and payment details, which is standard for most eBook platforms. I appreciate that Kobo does not bombard users with ads or excessive tracking behavior, allowing me to enjoy my reading without distractions. The app's privacy policy is transparent, detailing how my data is used and protected, which gives me peace of mind while using the service.

Used to be a great app. Since the last update though, it's very hard to use. The links for footnotes no longer appear to work. When you open a book, it automatically turns the screen brightness up to maximum, which makes it almost impossible to look at because it's so bright. You can't turn the brightness down either because it somehow overrides the phone settings. None of the settings seem to allow you to change any of this and re-installing it didn't do anything.

The Kobo app needs some work, especially the audiobooks. It freezes when I try to listen to back to back samples. I have to power off my phone in order for audiobooks to finish downloading. The app will show that a book is on chapter one when it's really on chapter nine. I have to close the app and reopen it for the app to catch up. I've learned not to pause a book and press play when it gets stuck on a chapter because it starts the book over.

I love my kobo e reader, but this app is pretty bad, ngl. When I don't have strong connection to the Internet, it won't let me access my downloaded books, half the time it doesn't load anything at all. If I'm reading a book and I go back to my home screen or a different app for a bit, then go back, I'm met with a completely black, unresponsive screen. Most of the time when I'm in my library, there is a continuous loading icon at the top of the screen. Hope this app improves soon!

I can no longer use my credits for audiobooks, the only option is to purchase at full price. The "help" link only leads to an error message on both the app and the website. Please let us fine-tune the playback speed. The playback speed adjustment is currently extreme. Speeding up to 1.05 to 1.10 or down to 0.95 or 0.9 would be great. I'd never isten to anything at +3.0 speed... The search results aren't easy to navigate. Membership read/listen library is awesome! I hope that doesn't change.

Horrible. Barely navigable just to figure out how to purchase the book you want. Then my ebook purchase wouldn't sync to my android app, once I got that sorted the book wouldn't open and I had to remove the app then download it again. I finally was able to navigate through my purchase to read the book only to find that the voice narration isn't supported on my device and now the book is not returnable after all this trouble. Total waste of valuable time and money.
