3.2 Merrill Edge is a robust investment platform that caters to both novice and experienced investors. With a suite of features designed to enhance the trading experience, it stands out in the crowded financial app market. Here are some of its core features:
As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling multiple responsibilities, which is why I rely heavily on the Merrill Edge app for my investment needs. One of my favorite scenarios is during my lunch break. I can quickly check my portfolio performance and make trades right from my phone. Just last week, I noticed a dip in a stock I had been eyeing. Within minutes, I was able to execute a buy order, all while enjoying my sandwich. The app's real-time updates ensure that I never miss an opportunity, even when I'm on the go.
The user experience on Merrill Edge is truly commendable. The app's layout is intuitive, with clearly labeled sections for portfolio management, research, and trading. I particularly enjoy the streamlined workflow when executing trades; it feels seamless and efficient. The performance is impressive, with minimal lag time, even during peak trading hours. I also appreciate the educational resources available within the app, which have helped me enhance my investment knowledge. Overall, using Merrill Edge feels empowering, as I have all the tools I need to make informed decisions right at my fingertips.
Merrill Edge stands out with its zero-commission trading on stocks and ETFs, which is a significant advantage for cost-conscious investors like myself. While there are some fees associated with certain services, such as options trading, the overall pricing structure is competitive. I find that the lack of commissions allows me to trade more freely without the constant worry of incurring extra costs, making it a great choice for both casual and active traders.
The support provided by Merrill Edge is commendable. I’ve had to reach out to customer service a couple of times, and each time, I received prompt and helpful responses. The app also receives regular updates, which enhance its functionality and security. I appreciate that the developers are committed to improving the user experience, as evidenced by the new features rolled out in recent months. Overall, I feel supported and valued as a user, which adds to my positive experience with the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when it comes to financial apps, and Merrill Edge does not disappoint. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. During the registration process, I was required to provide personal information, including my Social Security number and financial details, which is standard for investment platforms. However, I felt reassured by the app's robust encryption and security measures designed to protect my data.
Moreover, I have not encountered any intrusive ads or excessive tracking behavior while using the app. Merrill Edge respects user privacy, which is a significant concern in today’s digital landscape. Overall, I feel confident that my personal and financial information is secure while using the Merrill Edge app, allowing me to focus on my investments without unnecessary worry.

Does the job to get me my account information and holdings plus gain/losses. I get notifications, too, for most transactions and alerts on gains. Would be nice to be able to set up more advanced notifications based on combo rules on certain stocks, ETFs, etc that meet buy or sell signal criteria or set up specific watchlists to get notified on. Also, need more standard performance ranges in default like 3 months, 6 months, 3 year besides 1 month, 1 year and 5 year.

Compared to other platforms this is pedestrian at best. I honestly use others for my charting and research and just come to Merrill to execute the trades. Probably will move out of it completely soon, as the research tools are buried and the Orders process takes way too many clicks. They technically just "redesigned" the app, but that was simply updating the textures. Premarket hours also don't start til 7:30am. One positive is that phone support is GREAT. But yea, go to WeBull.

Unimpressed with usability. I've been using Robinhood for a while and after 1 day with Merrill Edge here is my feedback: 1. I placed a trade before market yesterday. I didn't get confirmation of the trade until closing. I cannot verify anywhere in the app *when* my trade was placed. Just the day itself. I'm not sure it's placing orders when I say to. 2. Their "contact us" secure messaging platform doesn't work on S10+. Won't let you type. 3. Hard to find gains/losses without scrolling a lot.

This is one of the worst trading platforms I've used for day trading. Not only is the app cumbersome to use, the system is totally outdated. To edit any order you place in the app, you have to go through a six-step process. By the time, you complete the process, the stock has moved on. The shares that I shorted and covered from a month ago still keep showing up in my account when I try to place an order. I called CS 4 days in a row trying to get the issue fixed, but nothing was accomplished

Site Down Far Too Often. This 2 star rating is not for the app itself but for Merrill Edge Pierce Fenner Smith. Their trading platform is down far too often. And it's not down for 10 min. It's often down on huge swing days (up or down). And then it can be down for over an hour. Any trader reading this realizes the implications here. Sure you can call to make a trade. But if everyone can't log in the hold time jumps to 2+ hours. Not a reliable trading platform though many other features are great
