4.6 MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is a powerhouse in the world of Forex trading, offering a suite of features that cater to both novice and experienced traders. Here are some of the standout features that make MT4 a go-to platform for many:
As a Forex trader, I rely heavily on MetaTrader 4 for my daily trading activities. Each morning, I start my day by checking the economic calendar within the app to stay updated on any major news events that could impact the markets. During my lunch break, I often pull out my phone to quickly analyze charts and make trades based on real-time data. The ability to execute trades on the go has been a game-changer for me, especially when I’m away from my computer. Additionally, I use the app to backtest my trading strategies, allowing me to refine my approach before risking real money.
The user interface of MetaTrader 4 is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for both beginners and seasoned traders to navigate. The layout is clean, with all essential tools readily accessible. I appreciate the ability to customize my workspace, which allows me to focus on the currency pairs I trade most frequently. The performance of the app is impressive; it runs smoothly without lag, even when I’m analyzing multiple charts simultaneously. Overall, my experience with MT4 has been overwhelmingly positive. The combination of powerful features and a user-friendly interface has made my trading journey enjoyable and productive.
MetaTrader 4 is free to download and use, which is a significant advantage for traders looking to minimize costs. However, it’s essential to note that while the app itself is free, users will need to open an account with a broker that supports MT4. Some brokers may charge fees or commissions, so it’s wise to compare options before committing to one. Overall, the cost-effectiveness of MT4 makes it an attractive choice for traders at all levels.
MetaTrader 4 is regularly updated to enhance performance and security, ensuring that users have access to the latest features and improvements. The support provided by the community and various brokers is also commendable. I’ve found numerous forums and online resources where I can seek help or share experiences with other traders. Additionally, many brokers offer dedicated customer support for MT4 users, which has been helpful whenever I’ve encountered issues or had questions about specific features.
When it comes to security and privacy, MetaTrader 4 takes several measures to protect its users, which is particularly important for American traders. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. During the registration process, users are required to provide personal information, including their name and email address, which is standard for trading platforms. However, I appreciate that MT4 does not bombard users with ads or excessive tracking behavior, allowing for a more focused trading experience. Overall, I feel confident in the security measures in place, knowing that my data is handled responsibly while I trade.

I've been trading for many years. When I first began, I was using Xmobile, which is no longer available. That app would allow you to see the dollar amount of your TP and SL based on your entry. It was very convenient. MT4 doesn't allow that, but it's easy to use, consistent and doesn't have many glitches. Sometimes I'm eager to trade, and my broker account doesn't connect right away but I blame that on my broker and not the app. If it ever let's you see a dollar amount for tp and SL, it'll rule

It's good and great until it's not. They face a lot of connectivity issues and because of that I've lost money which is definitely annoying. For majority of the day yesterday i was in a trade and i wanted to close off for hours. Everytime I checked, it would say off quotes. Up until it took me out in negatives. Could have been a wonderful trade if I was able to close. Im extremely disappointed but things happen. I'm definitely changing brokers.

I really like that I can get my desktop indicator alerts sent to my phone. That alone is powerful to me and deserving of 4 stars because it works very well, I can't believe that function is free. Other than that, I think mt4 is a little confusing to learn compared to even the desktop program...but once you learn how to place orders etc. It gets easier. But overall it's a good trading app on mobile. I want a way to place trailing stops on the mobile app...and better on chart trading.

This is the 2nd time I have been battling the same issue to no avail. There is no customer support info on the app. I have had the android app set to save password since the initial install, but for some reason I continue to get an "Authentication failed"notice on the demo account you get at sign up. It even does it when I attach my broker account! Uninstalling and re-installing does not resolve. I have never been able to use the app. SEVERELY frustrating.

I reached out to email support & haven't heard a thing back. I've been having issues getting MT4 to connect. Have done everything I can on my end to troubleshoot the issue & I am still not able to use this app!! I will have to rely on my laptop version to keep track of my trades which is not all that convenient. I am not happy at all at the moment. I've had this app for well over 4 years now. I'm not sure what it going on but can someone reach out to me from support & I can update my rating.
