2.9 Navionics® Boating is a powerful app designed for boating enthusiasts, offering a plethora of features that enhance navigation and safety on the water. Here are some of the core highlights that make this app a must-have for anyone who loves to explore the waterways.
As an avid boater, I often find myself using the Navionics® Boating app in various scenarios. One of my favorite activities is weekend fishing trips with friends. Before heading out, I use the app to scout the best fishing spots based on community reports and the detailed charts. On a recent trip to a nearby river, I was able to identify a shallow area that was teeming with fish, thanks to the app's depth information.
Another scenario where the app shines is during family outings. When we decided to explore a new coastal area, I relied on the app to navigate unfamiliar waters. The ability to view real-time weather updates and plan our route made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. I felt confident knowing I had all the information I needed at my fingertips.
The user interface of Navionics® Boating is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made it easy to access various features. The map interface is particularly impressive, with smooth zooming and panning capabilities that allow for quick navigation. I found the workflow to be seamless; whether I was planning a route or checking the weather, everything was just a few taps away.
Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any noticeable lag, even when I was out on the water with limited connectivity. I appreciated the offline maps feature, which allowed me to download charts ahead of time, ensuring I had access to critical information regardless of my signal strength. Overall, my experience with the app has been overwhelmingly positive, making it an essential tool for my boating adventures.
Navionics® Boating operates on a subscription model, which I found to be quite reasonable given the wealth of features it offers. The initial purchase provides access to a year of updates, and I appreciate that the subscription includes continuous updates to charts and features. For someone who spends a lot of time on the water, the investment is well worth it, especially considering the safety and convenience it provides.
The app is regularly updated, which is crucial for maintaining accurate nautical charts and features. I’ve noticed improvements in functionality and new features being added over time, which keeps the app fresh and relevant. Additionally, the customer support team is responsive and helpful. I had a minor issue with syncing my routes across devices, and they resolved it quickly, which left me feeling valued as a user.
When it comes to security and privacy, Navionics® Boating takes several measures to protect its users. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. Upon registration, I was required to provide minimal personal data, which is a relief for privacy-conscious users like myself.
Importantly, the app does not bombard users with ads, which enhances the overall experience. I also appreciate that it does not engage in excessive tracking behavior. The data collected is primarily used to improve user experience and provide relevant updates, which I find acceptable. Overall, I feel secure using Navionics® Boating, knowing that my personal information is handled responsibly.

Been using for years. Is a good app for navigating the Intracoastal. would be nice to have user editing of landmarks(if I does it have not noticed), especially for hazards. Lastly, for what they charge there should be a companion for wearable. I would much rather glance at my watch then pick up my phone while I'm cruising in crowded waters.

I'm running version 24.3 on the St. Lawrence River, which runs along the US/Canadian border. I'm connected to a flat panel monitor on USB c that mirrors my phone. Usually, when leaving port, all works great. After underway for a while, things go haywire. The screen spins, north up vs. course up switches. Seems to get worse if you zoom in for more detail. (Like a rock or shoal.) It will invariably flip out when accurate navigation is most critical. I have both US and Canadian cell coverage.

Too aggressively using GPS.. can NOT stop it from fully murking my phone battery JUST because I have "paired device" connections. refuses to release location data unless I "disconnect paired devices", which is not an option the app offers. deleting the connections is mot a fix, disconnecting from wifi is not a fix, and turning location to "only while.using app" is also NOT a fix. let me exit the app, whe. I say exit, exit. whe. I switch apps, stay using location. how is this so hard,.garmin?

Navionics has a great support team. They were able to resolve the issue and followed up at least once a day to ensure I was satisfied and my problem would be resolved. As long as you communicate your problem effectively and it is true and just you will have no issues. I do appreciate the support. I still wish they were cheaper, but I love the app and it has helped me for running back creeks on watersheds.

The app quit working after 7 months (paid for 1 year), couldnt get any help getting it working, then it auto-charged me again for another year. still doesnt work after talking to 2 different customer support - and being promised it would be resolved quickly. For what its worth, it worked good while it worked. I would not purchase this product again.
