4.3 The NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Router is a powerhouse in the realm of home networking, designed to deliver exceptional speed, coverage, and security. Here are some of its standout features that make it a must-have for anyone serious about their internet connection:
As a remote worker, my daily life revolves around a stable and fast internet connection. The NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Router has become an integral part of my home office setup. I often find myself in video calls with clients, and the last thing I want is a lagging connection. Thanks to the Nighthawk, I can confidently conduct meetings without worrying about interruptions. Additionally, my kids love to game online, and I appreciate how the router handles multiple devices seamlessly. On weekends, we often have family movie nights, and streaming in 4K has never been smoother.
The user interface of the Nighthawk app is intuitive and user-friendly. Setting up the router was a breeze; I simply followed the on-screen instructions, and within minutes, I was online. The app’s dashboard provides a clear overview of connected devices, and I can easily manage settings like parental controls and guest networks. One feature I particularly love is the ability to prioritize bandwidth for specific devices. For instance, when my kids are gaming, I can ensure they have the best connection possible while I work. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive; the performance is stellar, and I feel in control of my home network.
The NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Router is competitively priced, typically ranging from $200 to $300, depending on the model and features. While it may seem like a significant investment, the performance and reliability it offers make it worth every penny. For families or individuals who rely heavily on their internet connection, this router is a smart choice that pays off in the long run.
NETGEAR provides regular firmware updates to enhance performance and security, which is crucial in today’s digital landscape. Their customer support is also commendable; I had a minor issue with my setup, and their support team was quick to respond and resolve my concerns. The availability of online resources, including FAQs and community forums, further adds to the overall support experience.
When it comes to security and privacy, the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Router takes significant measures to protect its users. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it can be easily accessed by a wide range of users. During the registration process, I was required to provide minimal personal data, which is a relief in an age where privacy concerns are paramount. The router also features NETGEAR Armor, which actively protects against cyber threats, making it a great choice for American users who are increasingly concerned about online security.
Moreover, I noticed that the app does not bombard users with ads or excessive tracking behavior, which is a common issue with many free apps. This commitment to user privacy is a significant plus for me, as I want to ensure that my data remains secure while I enjoy the benefits of a high-performance router. Overall, the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Router not only excels in performance but also prioritizes the security and privacy of its users, making it a reliable choice for anyone looking to enhance their home network.

The app has gotten worse over the last year or so. Recently I tried to remotely access my R7000 router to reboot it, but it looks like it's no longer an option. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but now it keeps saying something went wrong with logging in. Now I can't use the app at all. I reset my password, just in case. Newp...not the issue. Firmware is up to date. If remote access is a necessity, I suggest looking at other manufacturers. Logging in remotely via web browser is gone too...

The jury is still partly out on the Nighthawk app. But my initial review isn't good. I just finished setting up a mesh system, and the app has been buggy and fiddly as hell. Several times it told me the router wasn't compatible with the app. If you take more than 60 seconds on a task, a contact support pop-up appears. God forbid you have any other apps open or attempt to switch between them. At the moment, I hope I don't have to use this app often.

App did not work for first launch/setup of RS700S router. Luckily if you squint and look at the bottom of the screen on any wired computer connected to the router you see a tiny barely visible link to configure the router from a webpage which works perfectly. This is a solution without a problem, almost nobody buying a 10Gb router will not have at least one wired device connected. This app does allow decent control of the router but the UI leaves a lot to be desired.

The extender installed fine. Though sometimes doesn't work where I need it. The app on the other hand will not work. Just keeps telling me to set up another extender. Only have one. Can't get past the install to see the other options. Like the extender, but could be better. This app needs an overhaul. FIX IT ALREADY 😕🙄

Doesn't work with my Netgear wifi extenders, that I bought around the same time as my router. I switched all my equipment from TP-LINK for better security, but it's been nothing but a hassle. Nothing connects, and the software is picky about which models or works with. I can't believe how much Netgear sucks -- they're like the HP of networking equipment.
