4.6 The PNC Mobile app is a robust banking tool that offers a variety of features designed to make managing your finances easier and more efficient. Here are some of the standout features that I found particularly useful:
As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling multiple responsibilities, and the PNC Mobile app has become an essential part of my daily routine. For instance, during my morning commute, I can quickly check my account balances and recent transactions to ensure everything is in order. On days when I receive checks for freelance work, I simply use the mobile check deposit feature while waiting for my coffee. This convenience allows me to manage my finances without interrupting my busy schedule.
The user interface of the PNC Mobile app is clean and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. Upon logging in, I am greeted with a dashboard that displays my account balances prominently. The workflow for depositing checks is straightforward; I just select the account, take a picture of the front and back of the check, and submit it. The app processes the deposit quickly, and I receive a confirmation almost immediately. Overall, the performance is smooth, with minimal lag, and I feel confident using the app for all my banking needs.
One of the best aspects of the PNC Mobile app is that it is completely free to download and use, provided you have a PNC bank account. There are no hidden fees associated with using the app, which is a significant advantage for users looking to manage their finances without incurring additional costs.
PNC regularly updates the app to enhance functionality and security, which I appreciate as a user. Whenever there’s a new feature or improvement, I receive notifications, ensuring I’m always in the loop. Additionally, the customer support is commendable; I once had a question about a transaction, and the support team was quick to respond via the in-app messaging feature, resolving my issue efficiently.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when it comes to banking apps. The PNC Mobile app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. During the registration process, I was required to provide personal information, including my Social Security number and account details, which is standard for banking apps. However, I felt reassured knowing that PNC employs advanced encryption technologies to protect my data.
Moreover, the app does not bombard me with ads, which is a relief. I have noticed that it does track some of my usage patterns to improve the app experience, but I appreciate that PNC is transparent about this. Overall, I feel secure using the PNC Mobile app, knowing that my financial information is safeguarded with robust security measures.

I love the user-friendly nature of this app. With the virtual wallet accounts you can set aside money in different categories in your reserve account for your savings goals (Like a vacation, a kitchen appliance, a new phone or Christmas gifts, etc.). That's really convenient. Giving it 4 stars because it gives an error stating it's unavailable fairly often.

When the app works it's fine. Not good, but good enough. Account info is front and center but I don't always know which account I'm looking at. On more than one occasion I've either deposited or withdrawn from my child's account and had to transfer money around. The app is also unstable and often services are unavailable within the app. If I wasn't forced to use it I wouldn't. This does not reflect well on PNC nor does it match the excellent service we get at the branch.

25-year customer can't log in. I've tried multiple times this week to open the app. By default I have biometrics enabled, and it's giving me a pop-up that I'll need to use my password instead. Fine. Except it never loads to allow me to sign in with my password. Thought it was a fluke but it's been multiple days now. Frustrating.

PNC must have the most incompetent developers in the financial industry. The latest version of this app is trash. Every 3-5 seconds I'm prompted with a system message telling me that the app is unresponsive. I can choose "Wait" or "Close". The only way to do anything is to keep choosing "Wait" and try to complete my tasks in the window between error prompts.

Updating as of June 2026: This app works sometimes. 1 star is still valid because it's mostly trash and often does not work. Example 1: you can't redeem points. I was trying to get some egift cards while at a shop. It would not open the messages so I had to drive home to a computer where it worked just fine online. Example 2: today I was trying to pay a bill. It was already listed in billpay and the app froze everytime when clicking the Pay button. This app is "meh" at best but mostly junk.
