3.3 PureVPN: VPN Fast & Secure VPN is packed with features that cater to a wide range of users, from casual browsers to serious privacy advocates. Here are some of the standout features that make this app a must-have:
As someone who frequently travels for work, I often find myself in situations where I need to access sensitive information or streaming services that are geo-restricted. One of my favorite scenarios is when I’m at an airport waiting for a flight. I connect to PureVPN to ensure that my online banking and email communications are secure while using public Wi-Fi. Additionally, when I’m at a hotel, I can easily switch to a server in my home country to catch up on my favorite shows without any hassle. The flexibility and reliability of PureVPN make it an essential tool in my daily life.
The user interface of PureVPN is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon launching the app, I was greeted with a clean dashboard that displayed the current server location and connection status. Connecting to a server is as simple as clicking a button, and I appreciated the quick access to various features like Split Tunneling and the Kill Switch. The app performed exceptionally well, with minimal lag during streaming and browsing. I felt confident knowing that my data was protected, and the overall experience was seamless. The app's design is modern and appealing, making it a pleasure to use.
PureVPN offers a variety of pricing plans to suit different budgets. The monthly plan is a bit pricier, but if you opt for the annual or bi-annual plans, you can save significantly. I found the pricing to be reasonable considering the extensive features and security measures provided. Plus, they often run promotions, making it even more affordable for new users to try out the service.
PureVPN is committed to keeping its app updated with the latest features and security enhancements. I noticed that they frequently roll out updates, which is reassuring for a user concerned about privacy. The customer support team is responsive and knowledgeable, available 24/7 to assist with any issues. I had a minor question about server selection, and they responded promptly, providing clear guidance. This level of support adds to the overall positive experience of using the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when choosing a VPN service. PureVPN is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the standards set by these platforms. When registering for the app, I was required to provide minimal personal information, which is a plus for privacy-conscious users. PureVPN does not engage in intrusive ads or tracking behavior, which is a significant concern for many users today. The app's commitment to user privacy is evident in its no-logs policy, meaning that my online activities are not stored or monitored. This level of transparency and security makes PureVPN a trustworthy choice for anyone looking to enhance their online privacy.

The app is extremely slow and heavy on Android. Even the interface lags. Connecting takes too long, and most servers fail to connect. Server tests always pass, but when I try to connect, it fails and asks me to check the server. The app has four protocols, but none seem to be updated or improved. Overall, the performance is poor and needs serious optimization.

UPDATE 4-May: I got an email out of the blue from PureVPN. Either this review and/or my attempt to get a refund flagged in their system. They said my issue was a technical error on their end, and therefore they're giving me 16 months free. For anyone else in a similar situation, keep an eye on your inbox. Credit where it's due. They eventually made it right. It appears they're playing catch-up because of the issue they had.

The app works pretty well once it gets going, but sometimes doesn't want to connect. One drawback is that it also seems to cause noticeably quicker battery drawdown so I tend not to use it when I'm unplugged. (It is of course always turned on when using wifi out of the house!) Update: After contacting PureVPN they passed the issue onto support and it wasn't long until the connection sped up and the signal hasn't been dropping. Battery drain isn't as much either. Very pleased with the app!

Easy to use, but sometimes requires a force stop to get it running right again. Version 7.05 has more issues. When I connect to a USA server, immediately it connects it wants to auto reconnect, even though a connection is up. If I do not dismiss the notification, I get connected to a local server. Support have been unable to rectify. Now running an older version. Am a paying customer, so just need to put up with it until subscription runs out.

This app is totally terrible. Not only is the website broken so I can't get the addons I want, but the subscription packages are totally incorrect. Port forwarding is NOT included in most packages and is separate all together, too bad because I would have bought it! Now that I've looked around though, the port forwarding option looks to be total garbage anyways though (you can't allow specific ports, only all or none)! Can't wait to get a refund (IF POSSIBLE)!!
