4.4 "Text Free: Second Phone Number" is an innovative app that provides users with a secondary phone number, perfect for various personal and professional needs. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who juggles multiple responsibilities, I found "Text Free: Second Phone Number" to be a game-changer in my daily life. For instance, when I decided to sell some old furniture online, I was hesitant to share my personal number with strangers. Using the app, I created a secondary number specifically for this purpose. It allowed me to communicate freely with potential buyers without the fear of unsolicited calls or messages.
Additionally, as a freelancer, I often need to communicate with clients. Having a separate number helps me maintain professionalism while keeping my personal life private. I can easily switch between my primary and secondary numbers, ensuring that I never miss an important call or message.
The user interface of "Text Free: Second Phone Number" is sleek and intuitive. Upon downloading the app, I was greeted with a simple setup process that took just a few minutes. The main dashboard is well-organized, allowing me to access my messages, calls, and settings effortlessly. I particularly appreciate the customizable notification settings, which let me silence alerts during work hours without missing any important communications.
Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any noticeable lag. Texts are delivered promptly, and call quality is surprisingly clear, which is often a concern with VoIP services. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I feel more secure knowing I can manage my communications effectively.
"Text Free: Second Phone Number" offers a free version that provides a basic phone number with limited features. For those who want an ad-free experience and additional functionalities, there are premium options available. The pricing is reasonable, making it accessible for anyone looking to enhance their communication without breaking the bank. I opted for the premium version, which has proven to be worth the investment given the added features and convenience.
The app is regularly updated, which is a significant plus. I’ve noticed improvements in performance and new features being added over time. The support team is responsive and helpful; I reached out once with a question about a feature, and they replied promptly with a clear solution. This level of customer service adds to my overall satisfaction with the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, especially one that involves communication. "Text Free: Second Phone Number" is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During the registration process, I was required to provide minimal personal information, which is a relief compared to many other apps that demand extensive data.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, I found the app to be relatively unobtrusive. While there are ads in the free version, they are not overly aggressive and do not compromise the user experience. The premium version eliminates ads altogether, which I appreciate. Overall, I feel secure using this app, knowing that my personal information is not being exploited.

DO NOT USE. If you plan on making phone calls more than 2 minutes long (even with perfect connection on high speed internet) you will cut out and so will they. EVERY. OTHER. WORD. Phone calls are impossible to make. It's so laggy to answer calls you miss them, and if you have anything playing in the background before the call it will keep playing. This whole app is trash. Only usable for texts.

Messages not sending... Been using this app for years. The ads have gotten worse. Used to just be the ones at the bottom. Now you get the pop ups every time you wanna change who you talk to. Also, messages are not being received by people. Full bars, 5g, no reason for the issue on my end, but multiple people are not getting the messages...

it's a great app, but the amount of ads is way overdone! I can understand making money through advertising, but putting an ad up every few seconds or every single time you switch screens or text someone is way overboard! yes I understand there is a paid version via subscription. the price of the subscription is actually the same price as you can get a real cell phone with one of the low price carriers!

I keep getting "Request failed with error 7063" when attempting to create a TextFree account. In spite of what they say on their support pages, I did not attempt to create multiple accounts, nor have I been accessing the service from outside the US or Canada, nor have I been using a non-official app store, nor have I tampered with my device (it isn't rooted). Bottom line, it doesn't work at all. Uninstalling.

I honestly had something happen to me that I have never encountered before. Text Free Blocked/Restricted my Account shortly after I created the Account. I created my account, bought the Plus subscription for $4.99 immediately and next thing I know, my account is restricted for some unexplained reason. I wasn't in the app for 2 minutes, never made a call or even texted anyone so I am not sure what that was about. I reached out to customer service but that was no Help. I am disappointed.
