Real Experience Using "Zepp(formerly Amazfit)"

Application Scenarios

My journey with the Zepp app began when I decided to take my fitness seriously. I started using it during my morning runs, where I would track my distance and pace. The app's GPS feature was a game-changer, allowing me to explore new routes without worrying about getting lost. On weekends, I also use Zepp to monitor my yoga sessions, where it tracks my heart rate and breathing patterns, helping me stay mindful and focused. Additionally, I often check the app in the evenings to review my daily activity levels and ensure I’m meeting my fitness goals.

User Experience

The user interface of Zepp is sleek and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through various features. Upon opening the app, I am greeted with a dashboard that displays my health metrics at a glance. The workflow is smooth; I can quickly switch between tracking workouts and reviewing my health data. Performance-wise, the app runs seamlessly on my device, with minimal lag or crashes. I appreciate the visual representations of my data, such as graphs and charts, which make it easy to understand my progress over time. Overall, using Zepp feels like having a personal trainer in my pocket, guiding me towards a healthier lifestyle.

Pricing

Zepp is free to download and use, which is a significant advantage for those looking to improve their fitness without breaking the bank. While there are premium features available through in-app purchases, the free version offers a comprehensive set of tools that cater to most users' needs. I find that the free version is more than sufficient for my fitness journey, allowing me to track my progress without any financial commitment.

Updates & Support

The developers of Zepp are committed to providing regular updates, which often include new features and improvements based on user feedback. I’ve noticed enhancements in the app’s performance and additional workout modes since I started using it. Customer support is also responsive; I reached out once with a query about syncing issues, and they promptly provided a solution. This level of support gives me confidence in the app and its ongoing development.

Security & Privacy Review

As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, especially one that collects personal health data. Zepp is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. When registering, the app requires basic personal information, such as age, weight, and fitness goals, which is standard for health apps. However, I appreciate that Zepp allows users to control their privacy settings, including data sharing preferences.

In terms of ads and tracking behavior, I have not encountered intrusive advertisements while using the app. Zepp does collect data to improve user experience and provide personalized insights, but it is transparent about its data usage policies. Overall, I feel secure using Zepp, knowing that my personal information is handled with care and that I have control over my data.

App has changed radically since I first started using it. But still has stupid issues. Like, if I allow notifications, I get notifications all the time about keeping the band running. And if I tap the notification it doesn't clear. And if I turn off notifications then every single time I enter the app, I have to close 2 popups about allowing notifications. Seriously annoying! Also, I frequently get chided for sitting too long WHILE I AM MOVING AROUND!!! Disappointing - could be so much better!

Overall good but few things: 1. BMI is incredibly incorrect. i can run 5k and 10ks and it lists me as obese. 2. The phones performance is taking a noticeable hit. Everything is very slow when its connected to watch. You can fix this by making it so that the watch can't receive notifications. You get a much longer battery life on the watch+phone. 3. If you're using this for running it isnt bad for the price. Just remember that it isn't perfect. Treadmill distance off, and altitude is off.

Solid app. Everything works and syncs up nicely. A very comprehensive fitness app! Update: I'm using the Amazfit GTS2e, and I'm noticing two problems. First, the heart rate tracker seems to stop tracking when you have a lot of wrist perspiration, and does not track at all when cycling. Second, it syncs very poorly with Google Fit. Maybe Google intentionally hinders this, to encourage purchasing a Wear OS smartwatch/band? Three years later (2025), and the app is even better than it was before.

overall good and worth it. no true text capabilities. most models say they do, but it's through WhatsApp only. you can only use quick text options. I also don't like the fact that when my heart rate is above a certain level it doesn't detect that I'm exercising but if the watch is wet it thinks I'm swimming. I do like the watch and the style of it. really good location capabilities. really long battery compared to others. I've had mine a few years and I charge it once a week.'

I had another brand and now I see the main thing that drove me away from that is just a given with smartwatch apps now. It's sad that basic, unfiltered data is becoming unavailable and AI-selected information is shoved down our throats instead. At least the app is customizable and I'm able to hide a lot of unwanted things. I wish I could see my heart rate zones through the day and totals for the day, week, etc. I wish I could see which hours I missed being active when I do miss one.
