4.6 Audible: Audio Entertainment is a treasure trove for anyone who loves stories, whether they are in the form of audiobooks, podcasts, or original audio content. Here are some of the standout features that make this app a must-have for audio enthusiasts:
My journey with Audible began during my daily commute. I found myself stuck in traffic more often than I’d like to admit, and traditional radio just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I downloaded the app and quickly discovered that I could transform my mundane drive into an engaging experience. Whether I’m listening to a gripping mystery or a motivational self-help book, Audible has made my time on the road enjoyable and productive. Additionally, I often use the app while cooking or doing household chores. The immersive storytelling keeps me entertained and makes the tasks feel less tedious.
The user interface of Audible is sleek and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through the vast library. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with personalized recommendations based on my listening history, which I find incredibly helpful. The search function is robust, allowing me to filter by genre, author, or even specific keywords. I appreciate the seamless playback experience; the app remembers where I left off, and I can easily switch between devices. The performance is smooth, with minimal buffering, even when I’m streaming. Overall, my experience with Audible has been overwhelmingly positive, as it has enriched my daily routine with captivating audio content.
Audible offers a subscription model that provides excellent value for avid listeners. The standard plan costs $14.95 per month, which includes one credit for any audiobook of your choice, plus access to the Audible Originals library. There’s also a free trial available for new users, allowing you to explore the app without any financial commitment. Given the extensive library and exclusive content, I find the pricing to be quite reasonable, especially considering how much I use the app.
Audible frequently updates its app to enhance user experience and introduce new features. I’ve noticed improvements in the app’s performance and the addition of new content categories over time. The customer support is also commendable; I once had a question about my subscription, and the response was prompt and helpful. They offer support through various channels, including email and live chat, making it easy to get assistance when needed.
As an American user, I take security and privacy seriously, and I’m pleased to report that Audible has robust measures in place. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards of these platforms. When registering, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my email address and payment details, which is standard for subscription services. I appreciate that Audible does not bombard users with ads, and I have not noticed any intrusive tracking behavior while using the app. Overall, I feel confident that my personal data is secure while enjoying the vast array of audio entertainment that Audible offers.

It's a good app it does have a big library, but you're buying 1 book a month for $15+tax so it's a bit pricey. Better off just buying the book at a discount price from any app. Plus, audible will charge you even after you cancel your membership. I canceled my membership 2 weeks ago and just yesterday it tried to charge me before the account closes. No bueno

Auto plays without permission. I turn the continue feature off and even on phone restart (when audible hasn't even been opened) - it will still continue a book when connecting to my car's Bluetooth and start playing a book. I ended up uninstalling and canceling my subscription. edited 1/2026 - reinstalled. this is still true. and the timer does not work. I set it to end of chapter to listen as I go to sleep, wake up to a finished book.

I'm having the same issue many others have mentioned - no matter what my settings are, when my phone connects to Bluetooth in my car, Audible automatically starts up. Not only that - it starts playing a book I've already marked finished and archived. It's EXTREMELY aggravating not only that the issue exists in the first place (there's no way there's no fix for this, Amazon!), but also people have been complaining about this issue for literally YEARS and nothing has been done.

App keeps getting worse and worse! There are now ads at the end of every book! You pay for the service, and you buy the books, and there are still advertisements. You can queue a title to play next or use collections to play books in order but both are glitchy. They also removed the option to bookmark your library to that from your home screen. I never shop in the app, so waiting for the store to load is a waste of time. I've had a subscription since 2006, and EVERY update makes the app worse!

I love that i can "read" books while I work. craft. cook and a myriad of other things. its a decent app, I wish the previews actually previewed a bit of the actual book rather than opening credits that you can't skip past. Some authors voices can be annoying, so I hate to spend the money if I won't like it. One recent book kept repeating lines. not sure if it was the book or the app. More credits would be nice for the monthly cost. especially loyal listeners
