4.2 DaTuner: Tuner & Metronome is a versatile app that caters to musicians of all levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Its intuitive design and robust features make it a must-have tool for anyone looking to refine their musical skills. Here are some of the core features that stand out:
As a passionate musician, I find myself reaching for DaTuner in various scenarios throughout my day. Whether I’m at home practicing my guitar, in a band rehearsal, or even at a casual jam session with friends, this app has become an essential part of my musical toolkit. For example, during a recent band practice, we were struggling to get our instruments in sync. I quickly pulled out DaTuner to help everyone tune their guitars and basses, and within minutes, we were able to play together harmoniously. It’s moments like these that highlight the app’s practicality and effectiveness.
The user experience with DaTuner is nothing short of delightful. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a sleek and modern interface that is easy to navigate. The tuning process is straightforward; I simply select my instrument, and the app does the rest. The visual feedback is particularly impressive, as it provides a clear indication of whether I’m sharp or flat. I’ve noticed that the app performs exceptionally well, even in noisy environments, thanks to its advanced pitch detection technology. Overall, using DaTuner feels seamless, and I often find myself spending more time practicing because the app makes the process so enjoyable.
DaTuner is available for free, which is a fantastic deal considering the wealth of features it offers. However, there is a premium version that unlocks additional functionalities, such as advanced tuning options and ad-free usage. I opted for the premium version after a few weeks of using the free one, and I can confidently say that the investment was worth it. The added features enhance my practice sessions and make the app even more valuable.
The developers of DaTuner are committed to providing regular updates, which is evident in the app’s performance and feature enhancements. I’ve noticed improvements in pitch detection accuracy and additional tuning options since I first downloaded it. The support team is also responsive; I reached out with a question about a feature, and they replied promptly with helpful information. This level of support gives me confidence in the app and its ongoing development.
When it comes to security and privacy, DaTuner takes a responsible approach that is reassuring for American users. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. There are no registration or personal data requirements, which is a significant plus for those concerned about privacy. I appreciate that I can use the app without having to share any personal information.
Additionally, DaTuner does not bombard users with ads or engage in intrusive tracking behavior. This allows me to focus on my music without distractions, making my experience much more enjoyable. Overall, I feel secure using DaTuner, knowing that my privacy is respected while I enhance my musical skills.

nothing but ads for ANYTHING you try to do. I don't mind ads in things but this is ridiculous. I couldn't even LEAVE A REVIEW without sitting through an ad. what kind of bs is that? horrible. if I could give 0 stars I would and I will never be recommending this to Anyone. in fact quite the opposite. edit after response: your free version shouldn't have so many ads that it makes the app UN-USABLE. That is insanely bad marketing. Do better, be better and using that as an excuse for a bad product.

I had this app for years on multiple devices. I paid for it once. Then I didn't have it for a while. Imagine my shock when I reinstalled it and discovered they were trying to charge me $15 a WEEK. OUTRAGEOUS. How do schmucks like you SLEEP at night? Anyway, all I needed to do let's check the pitch of an adjustable tuning fork. went to open the free version, immediately confronted with a game ad involving HACKING POLAR BEARS TO DEATH WITH AN AXE. NO THANK YOU!

I bought the pro version of this back in 2013. This is the first time I've downloaded this to a new phone and it does not unlock the pro version. Emailed the company more than two weeks ago and provided all the info and screenshots they requested and have not heard back. Can't do anything on it now without being bombarded with ads. Very disappointed. This was my standard tuner for more than a decade. Unusable now.

Ads have gotten out of control. Had to kill and restart a number of times to get to the actual tuner. They used to be much less invasive. I see the devs are replying to everything warning about their ad problem with "buy Pro!" and I'd like to point out that I just spent a few hours with Claude Code and now have my own personal tuner app with no ads.

Start up is pretty slow, really I don't wish to see a guitar drawn three times. Hopefully the layer of ads before getting to the tuner goes away with a paid version. However, I don't want to pay a recurring subscription...but I cannot tell from the description if it's once or recurring. Also I tuned my instrument and a few minutes later during rehearsal a loud ad started. Developers deserve to get paid and I sure don't mind supporting them directly. Will update rating.
