4.7 As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling work commitments and personal interests. Discovery GO has become my go-to app for unwinding after a long day. One of my favorite scenarios is when I’m cooking dinner; I’ll set my tablet on the kitchen counter and stream an episode of "MythBusters." It’s the perfect way to combine my love for cooking with my passion for science and experimentation. Additionally, during my weekend hikes, I download episodes of "Planet Earth" to watch later, immersing myself in nature documentaries that complement my outdoor adventures.
The user interface of Discovery GO is sleek and modern, making it easy to navigate through various categories. I appreciate how quickly I can find what I’m looking for, whether it’s a specific show or a new documentary. The loading times are impressively fast, and I’ve never experienced any buffering issues, even when streaming live content. The app’s layout is visually appealing, with vibrant thumbnails that draw you in. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive; the app feels polished and user-friendly, making it a pleasure to use.
Discovery GO is free to download, but it does require a cable subscription to access most of its content. This means that if you’re already paying for a cable package that includes Discovery channels, you can enjoy the app without any additional costs. For those who don’t have cable, the app may not be as beneficial, but it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a way to enhance your viewing experience.
The app receives regular updates, which is a huge plus. I’ve noticed improvements in performance and new features being added over time, which keeps the experience fresh. Customer support is also responsive; I had a minor issue with my account, and their support team was quick to assist me. They offer a comprehensive FAQ section that addresses common concerns, making it easy to find solutions without needing to reach out directly.
As an American user, security and privacy are always top of mind when using apps like Discovery GO. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During the registration process, I was required to provide basic personal information, but I appreciated that the app clearly outlines how this data will be used. There are no intrusive ads, and I haven’t noticed any excessive tracking behavior, which is a relief. Overall, I feel comfortable using Discovery GO, knowing that my data is handled responsibly and that my viewing habits remain private.

Please update your app to work!!! I've reached out so many times. You can't watch anything it freezes every commercial break. The app shuts off & you can't resume, then if you try again it freezes every commercial segment & closes down. Happens so much my device gives me a warning to put your app into deep sleep so it doesn't ruin my Samsung Galaxy. It's not my end, my stuff is all cleared, up-to-date, & fine. As a paying customer, this is absurd! It's been MONTHS!!! 😤 Yet, nothing's changed.

First: Waited way to long for Dish to be added to the list of providers. Second: There are way to many adds. it truly takes away from the viewing experience of the app. Finally, Third: Now the app won't open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times over the course of a month, and it still won't open. I wont waste anymore time with this app. It and the Animal Planet Go app will both be deleted, because it is the same way.

The app itself is nice, and works fine, but the amount of commercials is OUTRAGEOUS at best. There's breaks every five minutes it feels like, and I'm getting up to 8 commercials every time. (Up to three MINUTES of commercial.) As a paying cable customer I would expect there to be fewer commercials, at least on older episodes, on a TV channel app. If it's Discovery behind the app I am severly disappointed in them, both in the number, and the lack of variety, in their commercials. Do better.

5 minutes and 46 seconds between ads! The discovery go app works great on all my platforms, including the Xbox One. My main issue with it is definitely the ads. 8 short ads in between 10 minutes or less of video is pretty annoying. Alot of the discovery channel branded ads are too repetitive, please reduce he ads to 5 or 6 the most. Thanks

Installation is easy through Playstore and that's the only easy thing. Searching for a show is near impossible, random letters are added/removed from what you type in (f.e. my search for Deadliest Catch resulted in looking like deadddlllist catch with no results being found). The "continue watching" feature does not work most of the time. Instead of bringing you back to where you interrupted your program, the list is either blank or lists shows that have you finished watching. There is no way to remove already watched shows from this list. The app also frequently shuts down all by itself in the middle of a program. That happens across multiple devices and clearly at random. There also is no way to watch shows from the website and use the app as an add-on. Overall this app's performance is so poor that I ended up uninstalling it. Clearly nobody has figured out that this is the 21st Century and most people live their life on the go. With all the commercial interruptions on the app there should be enough money to develop something much better.
