4.7 As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling work commitments and personal life, which leaves little time for meal prep. That's where DoorDash comes in. On a typical Tuesday, after a long day at the office, I might find myself too exhausted to cook. Instead, I open the DoorDash app, scroll through my favorite local restaurants, and place an order for a comforting bowl of ramen. The convenience of having hot, delicious food delivered right to my doorstep is a game-changer.
Additionally, I use DoorDash for grocery shopping. On weekends, when I plan to host friends for a game night, I can quickly order snacks and drinks from a nearby grocery store. The ability to combine food and grocery orders in one app simplifies my life and saves me time.
The user interface of the DoorDash app is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that showcases popular restaurants and current promotions. The search function is efficient, allowing me to filter by cuisine type or dietary preferences. I appreciate how easy it is to navigate through menus and customize my orders. The checkout process is straightforward, and I can save my payment information for future orders, which speeds things up.
Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any noticeable lag. I’ve never experienced issues with crashes or slow loading times, which is crucial when I’m hungry and eager for my food. Overall, my experience with the app has been overwhelmingly positive, making it a staple in my daily routine.
DoorDash offers a variety of pricing options depending on the restaurant and the distance from my location. While delivery fees can vary, I find that the app often provides promotions that help offset costs. The DashPass subscription is an excellent option for frequent users, as it offers free delivery on eligible orders for a monthly fee. Overall, I believe the pricing is reasonable, especially considering the convenience it provides.
DoorDash regularly updates its app to enhance user experience and introduce new features. I’ve noticed improvements in the order tracking system and the addition of new restaurants in my area. Customer support is also readily available through the app, with options for live chat or email support. I once had a minor issue with an order, and the support team was quick to respond and resolve the problem, which left me feeling valued as a customer.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using apps like DoorDash. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring it meets the necessary security standards. During registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, including my name, address, and payment details. I appreciate that DoorDash uses encryption to protect my data, which gives me peace of mind.
However, like many apps, DoorDash does engage in tracking behavior to personalize ads and improve user experience. While I understand the need for targeted advertising, I am cautious about how my data is used. The app provides options to manage privacy settings, allowing me to control what information I share. Overall, I feel that DoorDash takes reasonable steps to protect user privacy while still providing a convenient service.

I always choose refund for every item and SHOPPER ALWAYS SAYS THEY DIDN'T KNOW so they ask if I want a substitute for every out of stock item. And then they make it worse by calling me! Last time they even canceled my order because I didn't see in time but I SHOULDN'T NEED TO SAY ANYTHING ELSE. PLEASE FIX THIS FRUSTRATING ONGOING ISSUE. This has been happening for years. Also there should be a NO SUBSTITUTES FOR ALL option. Manually selecting for each item is a huge inconvenience.

UPDATE: Terrible! I wish I could give negative stars. I've ordered twice in the past two years, and I've had an issue both times. Door Dash refused to provide any resolution, both times, and the drivers basically stole my tips (and I always overtip). One delayed my order multiple times, making a 35-45 min delivery into 1:45, and the other only picked up half my order, refused to get the rest, so I ended up picking it up anyway. FIND A DIFFERENT APP!!

the prices are actually INSANE. it would cost me $30 for something that was originally $14. everyone please save your money and just go pickup your food yourself. if the "fees" weren't added on i would consider keeping the app, but honestly it seems like such a selfish company I'm deleting it. I was ordering about once a week, but not anymore!

Super expensive additional fees. Why isn't there an option under your orders to rate your driver? For instance, once the delivery is completed and I open the app, it will pop up a "rate the driver" whatever window, and if I misclick out of it, I cannot get back to or retrieve that pop up again. it shouldn't be that hard. The dashers deserve better since their scores affect the orders they get.

Posting this issue here because nothing ever gets done about it. I had multiple door dashers having issues with finding my unit, despite the clear instructions on the address. One recently dropped my order off at the wrong unit. Each report only replies with "The type of issue submitted doesn't qualify for a refund or credit. However, we're always working to improve your experience and will note this feedback." Then the process only repeats. Food is always late.
