3.2 IFTTT, which stands for "If This Then That," is a powerful automation tool that connects various apps and devices to streamline your daily tasks. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who juggles multiple responsibilities, IFTTT has become an indispensable part of my daily routine. One of my favorite scenarios involves my morning coffee ritual. Every morning, I have an applet set up that triggers my smart coffee maker to start brewing as soon as my morning alarm goes off. This means I wake up to the delightful aroma of fresh coffee, making my mornings much more pleasant.
Another scenario is related to my fitness goals. I’ve connected my fitness tracker to IFTTT, so every time I complete a workout, it automatically logs my activity in a Google Sheet. This not only keeps me accountable but also allows me to track my progress over time without any extra effort.
Additionally, I use IFTTT to manage my home security. I have an applet that sends me a notification if my smart doorbell detects motion when I’m not home. This gives me peace of mind, knowing I can keep an eye on my property even when I’m away.
The user interface of IFTTT is clean and intuitive, making it easy for anyone to navigate. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a simple dashboard that displays my active applets and suggestions for new ones. Creating a new applet is a straightforward process; the app guides you through each step, ensuring you understand how to set up triggers and actions.
Performance-wise, IFTTT has been reliable. I’ve experienced minimal lag, and my applets execute promptly. The satisfaction of seeing my automations work seamlessly is incredibly rewarding. Overall, I feel empowered by the app, as it allows me to customize my digital life in ways I never thought possible.
IFTTT offers a free tier that provides access to a wide range of features, which is perfect for casual users. However, for those who want to unlock advanced features and create unlimited applets, there’s a Pro subscription available. The Pro plan is reasonably priced and well worth it for anyone looking to maximize their automation capabilities.
IFTTT is regularly updated, with new features and improvements rolled out frequently. The support team is responsive and helpful, providing assistance through their website and community forums. I’ve found the resources available to be quite comprehensive, making it easy to troubleshoot any issues I encounter.
When it comes to security and privacy, IFTTT takes user concerns seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring a level of trustworthiness. During registration, I was required to provide minimal personal data, which is a plus for privacy-conscious users.
IFTTT does not display ads, which is refreshing in today’s app landscape. However, it does collect data to improve its services, so users should be aware of this. Overall, I feel comfortable using IFTTT, as it prioritizes user privacy while providing a valuable service that enhances my daily life.

Decided to download this app to set up some automations that are not available through Google or Samsung. I used to use this app all the time, but haven't used in a few years. I just downloaded the app and it will not even let me log in. I tried all of the options without success. I cleared the data and cache within the app and still cannot do anything with it.

Dark patterns out the gate. I don't even get to try and use the app and I'm prompted to subscribe to Pro, I say "continue as free" it tries to sign me up for a free trial. It took me a little to figure out how to simply notify me based on a weather temp threshold because it feels like half the UI is like some colorful poppy advertising space for smart home integrations and IFTTTs media partners under "Services". 2 stars for 2 automation limit.

Last year, they limited free accounts to a set number of applets that a user could create, but you still had access to existing applets in their library. Today, they decided to limit free accounts to 2 applets total. I'm certain the next step will be no free accounts at all. Just another service sold to the masses as free for years so we'd get hooked into using it, then they cut off all usefulness unless you pay to stay. It used to be a great tool, but the cost is greater than the capability.

Extremely frustrating to get applets turned off with no errors or explanatian and no notification. Even more when the only info goes to generic instructions or says to contact them for help and they also have no clue without an error, now I can't justify renewing Pro Membership. Too many times now it has failed and the level of concern or care when asking for help isn't here. Used to absolutely love this app. Hands down, easy favorite. I'll be canceling if my next ticket is handled the same.🤞

Really disappointed. Originally this app was free, it was pretty good. I understand why they went to a paid model, no problem, I get it. They had a 1.99 legacy "forever plan." I ran into the same issues everyone else had. No biggie I'll still support them. That price jumped up to $3, which wasn't terrible or wallet breaking. It wasn't honest. Now they just ended it. I think it is $30 year, which is 2.50 a month. Idk, I'll dig more into it.
