A venerable classic of the puzzle-adventure genre, as good today as it was when it was first released almost 20 years ago. The only minor complaint is that it's a bit of a battery hog, but that's often unavoidable with these cross-platform ports. Nonetheless, a nicely polished up re-release of an old favorite. Fun story, good visuals, challenging puzzles, plus a touch of nostalgia if you remember the original. Well worth the money.

I can now understand why there are so many 5 star reviews for this game. After starting, I wondered where the story and gameplay would go. This game is a bit unlike any other adventure game I've played, and did not immediately impress. As we progressed, the story drew us in. In the end, this is absolutely one of the most endearing, interesting, and innovative stories and games we've played!

Absolutely amazing game. Great story line and aesthetics, and great puzzles. The puzzles may become quite challenging at times, which make my brain be used for its purpose - think. Took me about 5 dedicated days to get to the finish line. For more casual players, this game may take several more days. Great game! Worth everything and more.

So glad that there is a mobile version of this game. I been a fan of Layton after we got the 'Unwound Future' for 3DS, so what a treat to find out that there is an app! It's so charming and sometimes brain racking frustrating! lol But I'm so glad I finally got to play this. It was shorter than I expected, but no complaints because I know there are more puzzles waiting for me!

To the person who complained that they couldn't solve Island Hopping and gave it a one star review: I solved it in ten seconds. It was the easiest puzzle so far. BTW, The game gives you hint coins to buy hints with and ways to skip puzzles, despite your claims otherwise. In addition, Professor Layton is originally a Nintendo DS game from 2007, which means in addition to having hints, you can easily look up the solution online if you're truly stuck. The art is great, and the story compelling.
