4.5 Litchi for DJI Drones is a powerful companion app that enhances the flying experience for drone enthusiasts. With its robust features, it allows users to unlock the full potential of their DJI drones. Here are some of the core features that make Litchi a must-have for drone pilots:
As an avid drone pilot, I often find myself exploring various landscapes, from serene beaches to bustling cityscapes. One of my favorite scenarios for using Litchi is during weekend hikes. I set up waypoint missions to capture breathtaking views from elevated points without having to manually pilot the drone. Additionally, I’ve used the Follow Me mode while kayaking, allowing the drone to capture my journey on the water while I focused on paddling. Each flight feels like an adventure, and Litchi enhances that experience by providing tools that make capturing stunning visuals effortless.
The user interface of Litchi is intuitive and user-friendly, making it accessible even for those new to drone flying. The layout is clean, with all essential features easily accessible. I particularly appreciate the workflow when setting up a waypoint mission; it’s as simple as tapping on the map to create points and adjusting the altitude and speed. Performance-wise, the app is stable and responsive, with minimal lag during flights. I’ve experienced a few minor glitches, but they were quickly resolved with updates. Overall, using Litchi feels seamless, and it has significantly improved my flying experience, allowing me to focus on creativity rather than technicalities.
Litchi for DJI Drones is reasonably priced, especially considering the extensive features it offers. The app is available for a one-time purchase, which I find to be a great value compared to subscription-based models. This pricing structure allows me to use the app without worrying about recurring fees, making it a worthwhile investment for any drone enthusiast.
The developers of Litchi are proactive in providing updates, which is crucial for maintaining compatibility with new DJI drones and improving existing features. I’ve noticed regular updates that enhance functionality and fix bugs. Additionally, the support team is responsive and helpful, addressing any queries I’ve had through their online forums and support channels. This level of commitment to user satisfaction is commendable and adds to my overall positive experience with the app.
When it comes to security and privacy, Litchi for DJI Drones takes several measures to ensure user safety. The app is available on official app stores, such as the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of trust. Upon installation, the app requires minimal personal data, primarily focusing on the necessary permissions to operate the drone effectively. I appreciate that there are no intrusive ads or excessive tracking behavior, which is often a concern for American users. The app respects user privacy while providing a robust platform for drone operation, making it a reliable choice for those who prioritize security.

I purchased Litchi primarily for the Follow mode. As long as the weather is favorable (no fog or low clouds), and you don't get sand in the gimbal, it follows quite well. It followed two mountain bikers downhill for ten minutes, and only momentarily lost them from time to time. I do wish that the Follow interface was more intuitive, as there are a few options in there that you just have to risk trying to figure out. Also, watch out for obstacles before you enable Follow.

I purchased Litchi about 2 months after I purchased my Mini SE. I didn't get it primarily for features such as way points and following but I love having the options. I very much like the feel and user interface. Recently I made a 1.2 mile flight using Litchi with no worries. The only thing that doesn't work well for me (so far) is RTH. The aircraft always wants to land 30 to 40 feet from home point even after calibrations. But I usually take over landing anyway.

I recently got the DJI mini 2 but have been reluctant to push it out of fear of a crash. Short story, the Litchi app waypoints are perfect for the mini 2 as I've set up multiple flights in under an hour while on my laptop at home and flying them without a hitch! The Litchi app makes it easy to set up and fine-tune your flights. You can enjoy taking in the view and filming without worrying about altitude.

I LOVE LITCHI. I have gone from being terrified of using my drone with DJI Go to just flying my drone for the hell of it with Litchi. A brand new Mavic out of the box running on DJI Go gave me nothing but random disconnections and terrible video feeds, even after downgrading my app to a "stable" version. Now I'm flying farther and doing cooler things all because of a different program. The only reason I am giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is a lack of a few key features from DJI Go. Mainly playback and Gimbal speed adjustment, which I've Googled up and down and can't find a solution for. Props to the developers for making a solid, stable app that wouldn't even be necessary if DJI did their jobs properly.

After many trials, the app finally connected with the server. It all looked fancy and seemed to be working fine, however, photos and videos are impossible to be accessed due to some bug. They are impossible even to be downloaded onto my phone or any other phone. There should be a trial period for future buyers, after which they can actually decide if its worth the money. I know I have wasted mine. Dji Fly might not be the best app, but at least I can access the footage. Totally disappointed.
