4.6 As a freelance graphic designer, I often find myself juggling multiple projects at once. MEGA has become an essential tool in my daily routine. For instance, when I receive large design files from clients, I upload them directly to MEGA. This not only keeps my local storage free but also allows me to share these files with clients effortlessly. Additionally, I use MEGA to store my portfolio, ensuring that I can access it from anywhere, whether I’m at a coffee shop or working from home.
The user interface of MEGA is clean and intuitive, making it easy for anyone to navigate. Upon logging in, I’m greeted with a straightforward dashboard that displays my files and folders clearly. Uploading files is as simple as dragging and dropping, and I appreciate the progress bar that shows me how much time is left for uploads. The performance is impressive; I’ve never experienced lag, even when uploading large files. Overall, my experience with MEGA has been positive, as it combines functionality with a user-friendly design that enhances my productivity.
MEGA offers a free plan with 20 GB of storage, which is more than enough for casual users. For those who need additional space, MEGA provides several paid plans that range from 400 GB to 16 TB. I find the pricing to be reasonable, especially considering the level of security and features offered. The flexibility in storage options allows users to choose a plan that best fits their needs without breaking the bank.
MEGA frequently updates its app to enhance performance and introduce new features. I’ve noticed improvements in speed and usability with each update, which shows the developers are committed to providing a top-notch experience. Additionally, their customer support is responsive; I once had a question about file sharing, and I received a helpful reply within a few hours. This level of support gives me confidence in using the app for my important files.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when choosing a cloud storage solution, and MEGA does not disappoint. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the standards set by these platforms. Upon registration, MEGA requires minimal personal data, which is a significant plus for privacy-conscious users like myself. I appreciate that I can create an account using just an email address, without the need for excessive personal information.
Moreover, MEGA does not display ads or engage in tracking behavior, which is a relief in today’s digital landscape. The end-to-end encryption means that my files are secure from prying eyes, including MEGA itself. This level of security is crucial for anyone storing sensitive information, and it gives me peace of mind knowing that my data is protected. Overall, MEGA stands out as a reliable choice for users who prioritize security and privacy in their cloud storage solutions.

The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because WHEN it works it works well. HOW EVER, most of the time this app will either; completely lock up on launch or when you transfer, start to download a file get stuck and NEVER finish, take forever to load a stored video or image, or even flat out just not load my Cloud Drive folder. This will even happen on a stable internet connection. Additionally every couple updates some or most of the app features stop working right or they break something.

Decent storage app. Mainly use it as an intermediary for downloading, on account of its media player being horrendous. Any video bearing a resolution higher than what your device supports refuses to play. I'm not sure why they decided that was a good idea. Maybe there's merits I'm simply not seeing, or they're just lazy.

I had meant to buy the monthly teir as I would only need it for a few days at this time. But I was charged for an annual subscription. Even though I was being shown the monthly rate at the checkout screen. I requested a refund almost immediately so I could purchase the monthly subscription instead. But it was denied. My finances are completely screwed for the rest of the month atleast.

It's official! I've downgraded my rating, saved my files to my computer, closed my Mega Drive account, and cancelled my subscription. The new UI is not user-friendly, the app is a lot slower, files no longer sync across devices instantly in real time, amomg many other major problems. I will be moving my files into my own self-hosted super app which features flle management. If you are looking for a new file manager, this one is no longer recommended by me.

Was trying to download some files from my drive, and the downloads got interrupted. MEGA claims this won't be an issue, but it does still count against your daily download quota (that you can't easily check). So now I'm stuck waiting to get my files off their servers. Don't use MEGA—or any service that imposes "download quotas" for that matter. It's just a way to hold your data hostage.
