Real Experience Using "MobileSheets"

Application Scenarios

As a musician, I often find myself juggling various pieces of sheet music for different performances and practice sessions. MobileSheets has become my go-to app for managing this chaos. For instance, during a recent band rehearsal, I was able to quickly pull up our setlist, which I had meticulously organized in the app. The ability to swipe through songs seamlessly made it easy to keep the momentum going without fumbling with paper sheets. Additionally, I often practice alone, and the annotation feature allows me to mark areas that need improvement, making my practice sessions more productive.

User Experience

The user interface of MobileSheets is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made navigation a breeze. The workflow is straightforward; I can easily import PDFs, create setlists, and annotate my music without any hassle. Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly, with quick loading times and no lag, even when I have a large library of music. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app feels like a reliable companion that enhances my musical journey rather than complicating it.

Pricing

MobileSheets offers a one-time purchase model, which I find refreshing in a world dominated by subscription services. The price is reasonable considering the extensive features it provides. For musicians who are serious about their craft, the investment is well worth it, especially when you consider the time and effort saved in managing sheet music.

Updates & Support

The developers of MobileSheets are committed to continuous improvement. I’ve noticed regular updates that introduce new features and enhance existing ones. The support team is responsive and helpful, which is reassuring for users who may encounter issues or have questions. The community forums are also a great resource for tips and tricks, making it easy to get the most out of the app.

Security & Privacy Review

When it comes to security and privacy, MobileSheets takes user concerns seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. Registration is straightforward, requiring minimal personal data, which is a plus for privacy-conscious users. I appreciate that the app does not bombard me with ads or engage in intrusive tracking behavior, allowing me to focus solely on my music without distractions. Overall, I feel secure using MobileSheets, knowing that my data is handled responsibly.

Why is the E-Ink version a separate app that has to be purchased from a (sketchy) third-party app store? Why is it not simply a preference toggle? Why do I only find out about the E-Ink version AFTER purchasing the regular version with no option to convert my purchase? It also did a terrible job of picking titles from my music and I had to delete and reimport my entire library, forcing it to use filenames as titles for the reimport. You didn't say why I can't convert or why it's not in Play.

I was enjoying the free version, I got the full version so I could sync my library across all my devices, and immediately found problems with syncing the library. If I change the name of a song on one device and hit sync, then when I hit sync on the other device, instead of changing the name, it creates a duplicate with the changed name. Syncing the library is also a pretty big pain because of a few other reasons that are too big to fit in this review.

I've used virtually every other Android-compatible sheet music viewer/reader out there, paid or free. I finally landed on MobileSheets. I used the free version first and discovered this is the best music reader out there. Knowing this, I was absolutely OK with paying what seemed to be a steep price for anything in the Play Store. Truth is you get what you pay for with the Pro version. When I download charts from our church's scheduling app, they are imported directly into MobileSheets, saving me the extra work of copying from one place to another. The cropping feature is handy, too, as it allows me to make the image as large as possible for easier viewing. I also use it with my Bluetooth page turner without problems. It does way more than I need, but with the alternatives, I had to settle for less, so I'm pleased. MobileSheets has a steeper-than-usual learning curve, but is powerful and worth the effort you put into learning how to use it. I only wish I'd been able to start here instead of wading through all the others.

Good sheet music app for storing digital music. It's so nice to have most of my piano music on my tablet. The app lets you crop the file & save all the meta data that you need to easily search anything. You can also sync your library which is fantastic. The one feature I hope they eventually add is the ability to add non-pdf music to your library. All my old sheet music is fine since they are PDFs but any new digital sheet music I've bought is epub & can't be added. Hope this gets fixed soon.

This app had been great. I'm a professional musician, and use it for my big band, my brass quintet, and especially my broadway show books at my theater. Recently though, the app just closes in the middle of my show. It will only happen one time a show. Never for smaller pdf music files. I even purchased a new chromebook with much larger striated m storage, hoping it would fix this, but it didn't. There is no repair available, so I'm kind of stuck.
