4.2 Penly: Digital Planner & Notes is a versatile app designed to streamline your planning and note-taking processes. Here are some of its standout features that make it a must-have for anyone looking to enhance their productivity:
As a busy professional juggling multiple projects, I found myself constantly searching for a reliable way to keep my tasks organized. Enter Penly. I use it daily to manage my work tasks, personal goals, and even my grocery list. For example, during a recent project at work, I created a dedicated section in Penly to outline my objectives, deadlines, and key contacts. This not only kept me on track but also allowed me to share my progress with my team effortlessly.
On weekends, I switch gears and use Penly to plan family activities. I can jot down ideas for outings, create packing lists for trips, and even keep track of birthdays and anniversaries. The versatility of the app means I can adapt it to fit any aspect of my life, making it an indispensable tool in my daily routine.
The user interface of Penly is one of its strongest points. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that felt inviting and easy to navigate. The color scheme is soothing, which makes long planning sessions less daunting. I particularly appreciate the drag-and-drop functionality, which allows me to rearrange tasks effortlessly. The workflow is smooth; I can create a new note or task in seconds, and the app responds quickly without any lag.
Performance-wise, Penly has been reliable. I’ve experienced no crashes or slowdowns, even when I have multiple notes open. The overall feeling after using the app is one of satisfaction and accomplishment. I love how it helps me visualize my tasks and keeps me motivated to check things off my list.
Penly offers a free version with essential features, which is great for casual users. However, for those who want to unlock the full potential of the app, there’s a premium subscription available. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the extensive features offered. I opted for the premium version, and it has been worth every penny, given the added functionalities and customization options.
Penly is regularly updated, which is a huge plus. The developers seem committed to improving the app based on user feedback. I’ve noticed several enhancements since I started using it, including new templates and improved syncing capabilities. Customer support is also responsive; I reached out with a question about a feature, and I received a helpful reply within a day. This level of support gives me confidence in the app’s longevity and reliability.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when choosing an app like Penly. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During registration, I was only required to provide minimal personal data, which is a relief in today’s data-driven world. I appreciate that Penly does not bombard me with ads or engage in excessive tracking behavior, allowing me to focus on my planning without distractions.
Moreover, the app has clear privacy policies in place, ensuring that my data is protected. I feel secure knowing that my notes and plans are stored safely and that I have control over what information I share. Overall, Penly strikes a good balance between functionality and user privacy, making it a trustworthy choice for anyone looking to enhance their productivity.

So far, I am very pleased with penly and with the one time purchase fee vs a subscription. I can do quite a lot with penly that I can't do in Samsung notes. There's room for improvement—I'd like to be able to zoom all the way out, instead of just in. More export options & the ability to drag & drop pages anywhere within the sorter would also be nice, background or color options in the Ui as well. It has a lot of editing options that are not available with others though! love it!

Best note taking app that I've tried! It is easy to use and has lots of tutorials on Youtube. I keep my notes well organized now! Although, there is a little detail that is uncomfortable to me. When I select a tool (text, for example), I can't move through the note nor zoom in or out unless I unselect that tool. I hope that they can add a setting to be able to move while a tool is selected. Nevertheless, great note taking app! It was worth the payment.

I like it a LOT more than Samsung Notes. However, there are some small annoyances with it. I love that I can use custom fonts, but because I use them, I use a LOT of individual text boxes. It's annoying to have to tap the select tool to deselect the current text box and then switch back to the text tool to select a new one. I'd like to just tap outside of the current text box to deselect it. Also, I love being able to change text spacing, but it only lets you increase the space, not decrease. 😥

Everything is OK, but they market that this could be used as Notes for school. Unfortunately, there is no way to take notes while recording your lectures. Yes you can take notes but no there is no voice recording. I also agree that this is highly customizable but things are buried. I'm surprised that they don't have some sort of quick menu that could be toggled on by your pen to do simple changes like pick a new color or switch pen types. Needs improvement to beat samsung notes, or goodness.

To be honest, I was a little concerned purchasing this app. Their advertising is very female oriented, the reviews also, and I wasn't interested in stickers of cats all over my planner and notebook. But I took the risk, and I'm glad I did. This app is a true game-changer in the way it allows you to manipulate PDFs, and especially the built in planner/journal. It has changed my work flow for the better. It would be nice if it had more common PDF reader features as well, but not a huge deal.
