4.2 Pixlr AI Photo Editor is a powerful tool that combines advanced artificial intelligence with user-friendly features, making it a go-to choice for both amateur and professional photographers. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who loves photography, I often find myself reaching for Pixlr AI Photo Editor in various scenarios. Whether I’m editing photos from a recent trip, creating social media content, or simply enhancing images for personal use, this app has become an essential part of my workflow. For instance, during a recent family gathering, I snapped several candid shots. Later that evening, I used Pixlr to quickly enhance the images, applying filters and making minor adjustments to ensure everyone looked their best before sharing them with relatives.
The user interface of Pixlr is one of its strongest points. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made navigation intuitive. The main tools are easily accessible, and I appreciated the organized categories for filters, effects, and adjustments. The workflow is seamless; I could quickly switch between editing features without feeling overwhelmed. Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly on my device, with minimal lag even when applying complex filters. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, as I felt empowered to create stunning images without needing extensive editing knowledge.
Pixlr AI Photo Editor offers a free version that provides a solid range of features, but for those looking for more advanced tools, there’s a premium subscription available. The premium version unlocks additional filters, effects, and features like ad-free usage. I found the pricing to be reasonable, especially considering the quality of the tools provided. It’s a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about photo editing.
The developers of Pixlr are committed to improving the app, as evidenced by regular updates that introduce new features and enhancements. I’ve noticed improvements in the AI capabilities and additional filters since I first started using the app. Customer support is also responsive; I reached out with a question about a feature and received a helpful reply within a day. This level of support adds to my overall satisfaction with the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, and Pixlr AI Photo Editor addresses these concerns effectively. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. When it comes to registration, I was pleased to find that I could use the app without providing excessive personal information, which is a significant plus in today’s digital landscape.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, the free version does include ads, but they are not overly intrusive. I appreciate that the app is transparent about its data usage policies, and I have not noticed any aggressive tracking behavior while using it. Overall, I feel secure using Pixlr, knowing that my data is handled responsibly.

The ads are ridiculously aggressive and remove all reason to use the app. If you go to try and save it loads a video ad that can't be closed to save your art. It's bad enough that I'm uninstalling this from my phone. Edit- ads are one thing. These are ads that take over the app and break it. Half the time they break the functionality of Pixlr itself so that I can't save or do the function I was trying to do in the first place.

The ads have ruined this app. I get you need people to pay for your services but a 30-second ad EVERYtime you save a photo? Close the ad just to have another screep pop up to wait 5 more seconds just to make sure you didn't want to download that BS game. Now to efficiently use the ap you have to pay for it. Also I can't find the photos anywhere anymore that I save. I have to share them to another app just to save them now. I have had this app for years now. Time for a new one. 5 stars to 0 now.

Formerly great, AI Slopified token/credit nonsense pricing. This used to be one of the best open source freemium picture editing apps available, with a reasonable premium offering that I enjoyed and supported at a reasonable price. Sometime in the last couple of years they switched over to a vampire squid pricing model of $80 for a "free trial". I guess they are unaware that they have priced themselves out, while dozens of others have popped up including prominent AI solutions.

I've been using this app through multiple years for personal and work related edits. I understand ads are how you stay afloat but they keep getting more aggressive, the constant ai pushing is annoying, and the amount of images I can export being limited to premium means I can't use this for work anymore. I was going to give 1 star because of how far it's fallen however it does still have decent functions for free so that would not be fair. Think of the free version as a trial. Good luck.

I've been a regular user of this app for probably close to 10 years. Recent updates have totally destroyed the app. Ads are much more intrusive and annoying, and what used to be an excellent free software for a quick edit on a photo is no longer free (heavily limited without subscription). Textbook enshittification. One star. Look elsewhere. Sad.
