Real Experience Using "PS Remote Play"

Application Scenarios

As a busy professional and avid gamer, I often find myself juggling work commitments and my passion for gaming. PS Remote Play has become an essential tool in my daily routine. One of my favorite scenarios is during my commute. I can easily pull out my phone and dive into a game session while waiting for the train. The ability to play "Ghost of Tsushima" during these moments has transformed my travel time into an enjoyable experience. Additionally, I use the app when I’m visiting friends or family who don’t have a console. I can bring my gaming experience with me, allowing us to enjoy multiplayer sessions together, regardless of their setup.

User Experience

The user interface of PS Remote Play is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through my game library and settings. Upon launching the app, I’m greeted with a straightforward layout that allows me to connect to my console with just a few taps. The performance has been impressive; I’ve experienced minimal lag, even on a less-than-ideal Wi-Fi connection. The touch controls are responsive, but I prefer using my DualSense controller for a more authentic gaming experience. Overall, the app has exceeded my expectations, providing a seamless transition from console to mobile gaming without sacrificing quality.

I'd rate it zero stars if possible. The app works sporadically at best despite optimal service conditions. Consistently fails to connect or even find your device despite having been paired previously. Then "helpfully" taunts you with "tips" on how it's somehow it's possibly your fault for not choosing the right system options instead of it just being a horrible app.

Worked great for about a week. But now it won't work at all, no matter how stable my internet is. Every *few seconds (it's gotten worse), I get disconnected. Super annoying. Literally unusable. Edit: It has gotten even worse. Now the app is just a black screen, no matter what you do. Great job, guys, you've broken the one useful app y'all have.

Used to work okay (though it was really slow to start up). Now, I can get into the launcher, but every time I try to play a game I get the error: "Can't display the screen on the connected console. The screen contains content that can't be displayed using Remote Play" and the only option is to go back to the PS5 home screen. This happens no matter what game it is, even ones that worked fine before. So the app is effectively useless.

On my PS4 it wouldn't ever work would freeze them crash... but in my PS5 it works so well for some reason I played a lot of Rise of the Tomb Raider yesterday and worked like a pro... but it never worked on PS4 because for some reason PS4 is SOOOO glitchy... but I can't necessarily do the "Play Anywhere where you have wifi" type deal on my PS5 remote play... I tried and... it didn't connect whatsoever... good app tho(when it works) 👍.

I love my PS5, but the remote play features are garbage. It's almost impossible to link up with my PS5. Then when I do, it let's me play for about 5 minutes, then it freezes, and disconnects, and then refuses to link back up with the console. To be fair I've had a couple times where it worked the way it should. But mostly it's just broken. Xbox is lightyears ahead when it comes to this feature. Just trash.
