Real Experience Using "Samsung Health"

Application Scenarios

In my daily life, Samsung Health has seamlessly integrated into my routine. Every morning, I start my day by checking my sleep data from the previous night. This helps me gauge how rested I feel and adjust my day accordingly. During my lunch break, I often take a brisk walk, and I rely on the activity tracking feature to monitor my steps and calories burned. On weekends, I use the workout programs to guide my home workouts, ensuring I stay active even when I can’t make it to the gym. Additionally, I log my meals throughout the day, which helps me stay mindful of my eating habits and nutritional intake.

User Experience

The user interface of Samsung Health is intuitive and visually appealing. Navigating through the app feels effortless, with all the essential features easily accessible from the home screen. I appreciate the clean design, which makes it easy to view my daily stats at a glance. The feature workflow is smooth; for example, logging a meal takes just a few taps, and the app quickly provides nutritional information. Performance-wise, I’ve experienced minimal lag, even when syncing data with my Galaxy Watch. Overall, using Samsung Health feels like having a personal trainer and nutritionist in my pocket, motivating me to stay on track with my health goals.

Pricing

One of the best aspects of Samsung Health is that it is completely free to use. There are no hidden fees or premium subscriptions, which makes it accessible for everyone. While some features may require a Samsung device for full functionality, the core features are available to all users, allowing anyone to take charge of their health without financial barriers.

Updates & Support

Samsung regularly updates the app, introducing new features and improvements based on user feedback. I’ve noticed enhancements in the sleep tracking feature and the addition of new workout programs over time. The support provided by Samsung is commendable; they have a dedicated help section within the app, and I’ve found their customer service responsive when I had questions about syncing my data. This commitment to user satisfaction makes me feel valued as a user.

Security & Privacy Review

As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when it comes to health apps. Samsung Health is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for app distribution. When registering, the app requires personal data such as age, weight, and fitness goals, which is standard for health apps. However, I appreciate that Samsung provides clear information on how this data is used and stored.

In terms of ads and tracking behavior, I’ve noticed that Samsung Health does not bombard users with ads, which is a significant plus. The app does collect data to improve user experience and provide personalized insights, but I feel comfortable knowing that Samsung has robust privacy policies in place. Overall, I trust Samsung Health with my data, as they prioritize user privacy and security.

Worked great for the first year, but some time over the last few months it stopped sleep tracking entirely. I have to manually log the hours I was asleep (it even gives me the exact times! so it knows but refuses to log it?) and hasn't shown sleep stages for ages. I have done a restart, checked all permissions, everything suggested online, and it's still useless. Would have been nice to know before I blew so much money on an overpriced watch.

The app lacks a sort of sophistication other fitness apps have. Cartoon animals and color coded amoeba? Nah. Oura's interface is something to envy; made for adults, not children. Next issue is with sleep tracking. No, it didn't take me 3 hours to fall asleep last night. I spent some time reading. I should be able to make this adjustment without deleting the whole sleep record. I can't. Third, data trends. Not prominent or easy to get to. Shouldn't have to port data to excel to make sense of it.

I dont know what they were thinking with this last update. The app is very slow and clunky now. when I search for meals, it will just show me the list of ingredients, not the actual name. Everything was divided up into multiple menus for no reason. If I want to update a meal or check what's in it, it takes me to the name change section, so I end up typing instead of scrolling. The app takes about 5 full seconds to open the search bar after I tap it as opposed to being instant like before.

This is still the best app, but still subpar. My app updated this morning and the recent sluggish search was resolved. The titles of my meals are not displayed the new search, which is annoying. They still need to update the micro-nutrients for foods (hasn't been for 5 years). Looks like some of the detailed tracking disappeared for running without a watch such as air time and impact, but I don't use that as much.

I dont use all the features, so I can't say the app doesnt work. however, I use the treadmill tracking and it has a big glitch. after a certain point you can edit the miles to match the treadmill records, but it often doesnt work. for example, I walked 1.67 miles and when I could edit from .35 it wouldn't let me edit to more than 0.70. I don't mind calibrating to match the treadmill, but it often doesnt let me put in the correct distance, making the app useless for treadmill users.
