3.8 Samsung TV Plus - TV & Movies is a free streaming service that offers a plethora of channels and on-demand content, making it a go-to app for entertainment enthusiasts. Here are some of its standout features:
As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling work and personal life, leaving little time for entertainment. Samsung TV Plus has become my go-to app for unwinding after a hectic day. One of my favorite scenarios is when I come home, exhausted, and want to catch up on the latest episodes of my favorite shows. I simply open the app, and within seconds, I’m browsing through a variety of channels. Whether it’s a cooking show to inspire my dinner or a gripping drama to escape into, the app has something for every mood.
Another scenario is during family gatherings. With relatives visiting, I can easily set up a movie night by selecting a family-friendly film from the on-demand section. The ease of access and the variety of content ensure that everyone finds something they enjoy, making it a hit among family members of all ages.
The user interface of Samsung TV Plus is sleek and modern, making it visually appealing and easy to navigate. Upon launching the app, I’m greeted with a well-organized home screen that showcases trending shows and movies. The search function is efficient, allowing me to find specific titles or genres without hassle. I appreciate how quickly the app loads content; there’s minimal buffering, which is crucial when I’m eager to dive into a new series.
One feature I particularly enjoy is the personalized recommendations. After a few days of usage, the app began suggesting shows that aligned with my viewing habits, which made discovering new content a delightful experience. Overall, the performance has been smooth, and I’ve encountered very few glitches, which speaks volumes about the app’s reliability.
One of the most appealing aspects of Samsung TV Plus is that it is completely free. There are no hidden fees or subscription costs, which is a significant advantage over many other streaming services. While the app does include ads, the trade-off for free access to a wide range of content feels worthwhile. I can enjoy live TV and on-demand movies without worrying about monthly bills, making it a budget-friendly option for entertainment.
Samsung regularly updates the TV Plus app to enhance user experience and add new features. I’ve noticed improvements in the interface and the addition of new channels over time, which keeps the content fresh and engaging. The support system is also commendable; I found the FAQ section helpful for troubleshooting minor issues. Additionally, Samsung provides customer support through various channels, ensuring that users can get assistance when needed.
When it comes to security and privacy, Samsung TV Plus takes several measures to protect its users. The app is available on official app stores, such as the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of trustworthiness. However, like many free apps, it does require some personal data for registration, which may raise concerns for some users. It’s essential to read the privacy policy to understand what data is collected and how it’s used.
In terms of ads and tracking behavior, Samsung TV Plus does display advertisements, which is expected for a free service. The app may track viewing habits to provide personalized content recommendations, but it’s crucial to be aware of this when using the app. Overall, while there are some privacy considerations, the benefits of accessing a wide range of content for free often outweigh the concerns for many users.

Great app! Unfortunately and sadly I spoke too soon. The ads are really starting to pour in now and most are so repetitious that it makes me want to turn Samsung TV off. Please don't become Roku! Don't become another ad Warehouse this app has potential. Whether it's for free or not , try to make it worth using. Way too many ads! I just counted 28 ads in 20 minutes! That's ridiculous! This app went downhill fast!

Doesn't work anymore. Used to work fine, lots of ads but now no longer works. Samsung has decided to no longer support the version provided with my device, and offers no pathway to upgrade. This seems like a way to "strongly encourage" (force) people to go and buy the latest devices, regardless if the existing one still works and meets your needs. In light of this, I don't recommend this app and even leaning away from Samsung as a whole.

Same complaint as a lot of users. Commercials are too often and repetitive. Seems like the first movie I watched it was 3 Commercials. Two of them were 30 seconds and the third was 115 seconds. Movies from then on felt like a commercial every 5 minutes at 30 - 115 seconds randomly. It kind of takes away from the movie experience. Not a bad app to be honest, it just drives me crazy seeing the same commercial over and over again. I have not come to hate Sketchers. lol.

Edit: Works in Hawaii and does not require GPS. Does not need Chromecast support, works with all Roku and Firestick devices. Review: One of my favorite apps right now. I love classic game shows. This is the best way to view them for free and one of the best ways to view them in general. Great video quality and normal amount of commercials, plus the ability to save favorite channels. I love it!

I'd say this is a solid response to Apple TV... a free streaming service that offers a fair amount of content. Yes there are ads (that appear at random times), but you can manually select what "channel" you want to watch and add it as a favorite. The main "guide" only shows the current live program and whatever will be showing after, but if you go to the channel itself, you can see the scheduled shows. Unfortunately, only 3 stars because this is a consolation of shows already free in some way.
