3.2 Shudder: Horror & Thrillers is a treasure trove for horror enthusiasts, offering a unique blend of classic and contemporary horror films and series. Here are some of the standout features that make this app a must-have for any horror aficionado:
As a horror movie buff, I often find myself seeking out new films to watch during my downtime. Shudder has become my go-to app for those cozy movie nights at home. Whether it's a rainy Saturday afternoon or a spooky Halloween gathering with friends, I can always count on Shudder to provide the perfect selection of films. Recently, I hosted a horror movie marathon for my friends, and Shudder's curated collections made it easy to pick a theme. We ended up binge-watching the "FrightFest" collection, which was a hit among my guests!
The user interface of Shudder is sleek and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a visually appealing homepage that showcases trending titles and personalized recommendations based on my viewing history. The search function is efficient, allowing me to quickly find specific films or explore genres. I appreciate the seamless playback experience; the videos load quickly, and I’ve encountered minimal buffering. Overall, my experience with the app has been overwhelmingly positive, as it combines a user-friendly design with a rich library of content that keeps me coming back for more.
Shudder offers a competitive pricing model, with a monthly subscription fee that is quite reasonable for the amount of content available. As of now, the subscription is priced at around $5.99 per month, or you can opt for an annual plan that offers a discount. This pricing structure makes it accessible for horror fans who want to dive deep into the genre without breaking the bank. Plus, the option for a free trial allows new users to explore the app before committing.
Shudder regularly updates its library with new content, ensuring that there’s always something fresh to watch. I’ve noticed that they often highlight seasonal themes, which keeps the experience exciting. In terms of support, I found their customer service to be responsive and helpful when I had a minor issue with my account. They offer a comprehensive FAQ section on their website, which addresses common concerns and questions, making it easy to find solutions without needing to reach out directly.
As an American user, I take security and privacy seriously, especially when using apps that require personal information. Shudder is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility to its security measures. When registering for the app, I was only required to provide basic information, such as my email address and payment details, which I found to be reasonable.
Importantly, Shudder does not bombard users with ads, which is a significant plus for me. The absence of intrusive advertisements enhances the viewing experience, allowing me to immerse myself in the horror without distractions. Additionally, I appreciate that Shudder has a clear privacy policy that outlines how they handle user data, ensuring that my information is protected. Overall, I feel confident using Shudder, knowing that my privacy is respected while I indulge in my favorite genre.

love the app and a collection of horror movies in one place so you don't have to pay for 10 apps at the same time for different movies, but all the streaming apps (and everybody else) are getting so greedy with the price increases. every month when the payment is due, another price increase by a dollar. when I first subscribed I was paying 5 dollars a month,a reasonable price, now it's 10. another subscription I have had to pause / cancel because of this.

Horrible service. They advertised having a specific movie I wanted to watch, which required setting up a trial account through Samsung. After jumping through hoops, I find out the movie I want isn't actually available on their service. The movie selection is very low quality. In order to cancel, I had to log into so many accounts and the option to unsubscribe is buried in a way thats nearly impossible to find. I hope this saves even one person from the frustration I'm experiencing right now.

I love the app and service! Great selection, fun titles. Technical issues on the cell phone app include, not being able to search (I just get a No Content error with a button to retry, but no actual option to search). Also, the cell phone app insists on automatically turning on captions when I start a new show, whereas the TV app doesn't. I haven't found an option in settings to change the default. Love the service overall, though!

I was literally on cloud 9 knowing there's an app that only shows thrillers and horror movies. I downloaded it and subscribed immediately. First, I had to delete and reinstall the app on my apple tv 4 times because it kept getting stuck on shudder TV and not moving to other menu items. Then, you play. A movie and bang, the voices from other movies are playing along with the movie being played. Also, the movie selection isn't that great. Mainly commercial low budget movies.

Mostly for avid horror fans! I did the trial version and forgot to cancel, so paid for a year up front. It was only like $60, and I love horror, so I figured we'd probably watch a few things and make it worth it in a year. I'm so glad I accidentally signed up! I've never had any issues streaming (I only use it on my TV, so don't really know about the mobile app). And the variety! I was never one for foreign films, but they have an awesome selection! The original movies we've really liked too.
