I've had this app for years, and when it works, it works great! I can save songs to check out later, it gives me lyrics, and it's just a helpful tool. But the past year or so it hasn't been helpful at all. It can't identify any song I play, no matter how mainstream it is or how clear the audio it's listening to. I don't want to get rid of it since it used to be really good, but some changes need made.

Searching lyrics names or anything using text never works. it rarely recognizes audio even when it's clear as day and to super popular music. I can hold it with the stereo playing the top 40 and it will be lucky to recognize the any of them. Whatever the glitch is it just doesn't ever work right... shame cause for a decade or so it was my go to for figuring out songs... Now, its just worthless.

phone is next to speaker playing music and app thinks I'm humming! App seems to find the song playing only half of the time. App isn't updated regularly- doesn't identify newer songs. A recent update changed the format of my screen, such that the 3 buttons on the bottom of the display overlap the phones mode/navigation buttons ( can't search unless the navigation buttons are disabled!). Used to be fun to use; now it's cumbersome.

This had been my go-to song ID app for nearly a decade. I specifically chose this over Shazam because their data policy was better for the same utility. I'm very disappointed that this app has slowly been getting worse over the past couple of years. It started deleting my saved songs about a year ago. A few months ago, it stopped being able to ID common songs. And now, it no longer even attempts to display results. The UI just spins and never loads. Enshittification strikes again.

Entirely too many advertisements to be worth anything anymore, which is sad. I used to recommend this to everyone. Seriously, the ad game: Listen to figure out what a song is? ad in the middle which resets the listening so you have to try again. Want to change tabs? ad. Search a song? ad. It's despicable and completely unusable. just get Shazam, because even with all of its issues it's still infinitely better than this. I'm so sad to see how far SoundHound has fallen in the past three years.
