3.3 As a passionate gamer, I often find myself juggling between work and play. One of my favorite scenarios is when I have a few hours of downtime after work. Instead of being confined to my desk, I use Steam Link to stream games to my tablet while relaxing on the couch. This flexibility allows me to unwind with a gripping RPG or an action-packed shooter without missing a beat. Additionally, during weekends, I host gaming nights with friends. We set up a cozy gaming corner in my living room, and with Steam Link, we can all join in on the fun, regardless of the devices we’re using.
The user interface of Steam Link is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon launching the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made navigating my game library a breeze. The feature workflow is seamless; connecting to my gaming PC took mere seconds, and I was immediately able to access my entire library. Performance-wise, I was pleasantly surprised by the low latency and high-quality streaming, even when playing graphically demanding games. The app automatically adjusts settings based on my network conditions, which is a thoughtful touch. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, as Steam Link has truly enhanced my gaming lifestyle.
One of the best aspects of Steam Link is that it’s completely free to download and use. This makes it accessible for anyone who already owns a gaming PC and wants to extend their gaming experience to other devices. There are no hidden fees or subscriptions, which is a refreshing change in today’s app landscape. I appreciate that Valve has made this service available to everyone without any financial barriers.
Valve consistently updates Steam Link to improve performance and add new features. I’ve noticed regular updates that enhance compatibility with new devices and fix any bugs that arise. The support community is also robust; I found plenty of resources and forums where users share tips and tricks. Whenever I encountered a minor issue, I was able to find solutions quickly, which speaks volumes about the support available for this app.
When it comes to security and privacy, Steam Link takes several measures to ensure user safety. The app is available on official app stores like the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of trust. During registration, the app requires minimal personal data, primarily linked to your Steam account, which is standard for gaming applications. I appreciate that there are no intrusive ads or excessive tracking behavior; my gaming experience remains uninterrupted. Valve has a solid reputation for prioritizing user privacy, and I feel confident using Steam Link without worrying about my data being mishandled.

Trying to play warframe, but it doesnt seem to want to launch... To be fair, it launches, I can HEAR it from the phone, but I can't see anything except for the steam link page with the green button that says "resume game" which if you click on, it still doesnt take you to the game. If I go to my computer however, and switch tabs, THEN the game shows up, but if I'm trying to launch/play games on my phone... that's kinda pointless. Runs beautifully though🤷🏾♂️

it's a great app if you know how to work it. No it will not turn on your PC for you and No it's not recommended if you don't have a Bluetooth controller to pair to your phone. Yes you'll need a strong PC, know how to use big picture mode, and Strong internet connection. I love the effort put on by the devs. I hope they continue to support this app. If you hook your Phone to a stand or controller it's like having a mini gaming TV or steam deck anywhere in your home.

3-stars for the fact that this exists. However, It requires me to connect all plug-ins/bluetooth devices to my actual PC in-order to use. I have a bluetooth mouse, keyboard, multiple controllers that successfully connect, and all of them work on all my devices. I can see the mouse pointer on the screen. Using my mouse (or finger for touch controls) do not respond to clicking once the games start, the keyboard, and controller only works when the game is not yet booted. Lots of fun potential tho.

The app is very clean and when connected locally, I get really good connection results even over wifi. It's not perfect by any means, but I can play games like fishing planet with no real issue. However, trying to switch games is an impossibly annoying feat. I tried testing American truck simulator, and it didn't work too well. Now every time I go into the app, it tries to force me to play ATS without any option to switch games in the app. I'm just stuck playing ATS.

Functions about as well as could be expected, though I could do with a more stable connection and less latency. Even playing something like Portal 2 can be a struggle but it's playable. The control customization is very comprehensive and some games even have custom layouts with special icons and input methods, which makes them a lot easier to play.
