4.8 If you’re a music lover who enjoys the vibrant atmosphere of bars and restaurants, the "TouchTunes: Bar Jukebox" app is a game-changer. This app transforms your smartphone into a virtual jukebox, allowing you to choose the music that plays in your favorite venues. Here are some of its standout features:
My first encounter with the "TouchTunes: Bar Jukebox" app was during a casual night out with friends at a local pub. As we settled into our booth, I noticed the jukebox in the corner and remembered hearing about this app. I quickly downloaded it and was amazed at how easy it was to navigate. I selected a few classic rock songs that I knew would get everyone singing along. The best part? I didn’t have to leave my seat to make my selections. As the music played, I felt a sense of satisfaction knowing I was the DJ for the night.
Another memorable experience was during a birthday celebration at a bar that had a TouchTunes jukebox. I used the app to create a playlist of the birthday person's favorite songs, ensuring that the atmosphere was just right for the celebration. The ability to add songs on the fly kept the energy high, and my friends loved the personal touch I added to the night.
The user interface of the TouchTunes app is sleek and intuitive. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made it easy to browse through the extensive music library. The search function is particularly impressive; I could quickly find specific songs or artists without any hassle. The workflow is seamless—selecting a song, queuing it, and even paying for it is straightforward and user-friendly.
Performance-wise, the app is reliable. I experienced minimal lag when selecting songs, and the music played almost instantly in the bar. The overall feeling after using the app is one of empowerment; I felt like I had control over the atmosphere of the venue, and it made my nights out much more enjoyable.
TouchTunes operates on a pay-per-song basis, which means you’ll need to purchase credits to play your selected tracks. The pricing is reasonable, with most songs costing around $1.00. While this might seem a bit steep compared to traditional jukeboxes, the convenience and added features of the app make it worth the investment, especially when you’re in a lively bar setting.
The app is regularly updated, which is a significant plus. I’ve noticed improvements in the music library and user interface over time, enhancing my overall experience. Customer support is also commendable; I had a minor issue with my account, and the support team responded promptly and resolved my problem efficiently. This level of service gives me confidence in using the app regularly.
As an American user, security and privacy are always top of mind when using apps like TouchTunes. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During the registration process, I was required to provide basic personal information, including my email address and payment details. However, I appreciated that the app clearly outlines its privacy policy, ensuring users know how their data is used.
In terms of ads and tracking behavior, I noticed minimal intrusive ads while using the app. TouchTunes does collect data to enhance user experience and provide personalized recommendations, but I felt comfortable knowing that they prioritize user privacy. Overall, I believe the app strikes a good balance between functionality and security, making it a trustworthy choice for music lovers looking to enhance their bar experience.

It's basically a dollar per song... to play one time, in a public space where lots of noise is competing. I don't like the pricing at all... but since I work at a place with this system I do it to hear new songs at times. Edit for the response I got: I might complain about the pricing, but I also know for a fact that it is a price many are more than willing to pay. I am just a minimum wage worker, that's all there is to it. So it's a personal gripe, not a app-wide failing.

1 star because you HAVE TO turn on and allow NOT ONLY location services but ALSO location ACCURACY to even SEE the jukeboxes on the map. Even if you KNOW WHERE THE JUKEBOX IS and you zoom into the exact location, it STILL won't show it. What is the point of even using the app? By the time I get done jumping thru hoops, I could have gotten up and walked over to the machine myself!!!

They changes their prices to make it pretty much not worth using the app at all at my pool hall. I'll use up my credits and then just start listening to my headphones. Noone is playing any music and their "surge pricing" model is making me pay 2.1 or 2.3 just to play a song. Now that I've started playing songs it's costing me more and more to just play a song.

I have used this app periodically for about 10 years or so. I recently downloaded it again and I am incredibly disappointed to see their new system. its literally just to get more money out of people. having songs cost 2.1 coins (or more depending on how popular/long it is?!) is ridiculous. before this update, each song was 1 or 2 coins across the board. so now you are spending more money to play LESS songs. who's dumb idea was this?! i guess good for you for robbing your customers 😒

The app is technically fine but the dynamic pricing is absolute garbage. I was the only person using the jukebox at a local bar and the prices of the songs kept going up. Very disappointed and unlikely to ever use again. Edit- dropping this to 1 star because the app developer apparently thinks I'm a moron who can't read. I get it, I still think it's a terrible feature.
