4.7 If you're a fan of Asian dramas and movies, "Viki: Asian Dramas & Movies" is a treasure trove waiting to be explored. This app offers a plethora of features that enhance your viewing experience, making it a must-have for any drama enthusiast. Here are some of the standout features that I found particularly impressive:
My journey with the "Viki: Asian Dramas & Movies" app began during a particularly long commute. I found myself stuck in traffic, and instead of scrolling through social media, I decided to open Viki. I had heard about a new Chinese drama that was getting rave reviews, and I was eager to see what the hype was about. With just a few taps, I was engrossed in the storyline, completely forgetting about the frustrating traffic around me. This app has become my go-to entertainment source during my daily commute, gym sessions, and even while waiting for appointments.
The user interface of Viki is sleek and modern, making it a pleasure to use. The home screen is well-organized, showcasing trending shows, new releases, and personalized recommendations based on my viewing history. I particularly enjoy the seamless transition between episodes; the app automatically plays the next episode, which is perfect for binge-watching. The performance is generally smooth, with minimal buffering, even during peak hours. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I appreciate how the app continually evolves to enhance user satisfaction.
Viki offers a free version that includes ads, but for those who want an uninterrupted experience, the subscription plan is quite reasonable. The premium subscription unlocks additional features, such as ad-free viewing and access to exclusive content. I opted for the premium plan, and I believe it’s worth every penny, especially considering the extensive library and the quality of the shows available.
Viki frequently updates its app to improve performance and add new features. I’ve noticed enhancements in the subtitle quality and the addition of new shows almost every week. The customer support team is responsive and helpful; I once had a minor issue with my subscription, and they resolved it quickly. It’s reassuring to know that the developers are committed to providing a great user experience.
As an American user, I always consider security and privacy when using apps, and Viki does a commendable job in this regard. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards. When registering, I was only required to provide basic information, which is a relief compared to many other apps that ask for excessive personal data.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, Viki does display advertisements in the free version, but they are not overly intrusive. The app also provides options to manage privacy settings, allowing users to control their data. Overall, I feel secure using Viki, knowing that my personal information is handled responsibly.

the latest update for the app removed the casting button from the home screen. I can only choose to cast once I've started playing the media, which is frustrating. I hope there's a fix for it soon! ***edit*** constant drop from casting (when I do get it up) is infuriating actually. more than 3x in an episode. but overall, I love the access to the huge amount of content. I have the plus pass subscription and there's so much to choose from, and no ads.

The app does not acknowledge my account whatsoever. I have no problem logging in on a browser on my laptop, yet when I log in on the app, everything is gone like it's created a whole new account. It doesn't show any of my watched list or continue watching. The app saves nothing. It's useless for watching things on the go that I've been watching through previously.

The app still has great content. Unfortunately these are the issues I've encountered within the last year: losing access to shows because licenses expired; Roku app not allowing me to watch shows even though I have a premium pass; the Android tablet app not playing shows unless you log out and back in or uninstall then reinstall. So just a poor user experience overall, which is why I don't plan to renew my subscription. I want to but I think I'll feel silly paying them with all of these issues.

I won't renew either. It's so annoying to start a drama which shows that there are 12 episodes, only to discover that there are actually 16 or 20. There is no posted schedule for when other episodes will be released. It could be months until the final episode. The app has really gone downhill since a few years ago. The continue watching feature constantly vanishes and does not return after an uninstall and reinstall of the app. I am done with this service. Save your money.

I really love this app! Only 2 problems. Number 1, there's so many ads between the episodes. There's like 7-10 ads. Number 2, only some of the episodes to a show are free. If you're only going to make the first 2 episodes free, just make none of them free. It doesn't make people buy the Viki Pass, it makes them frustrated. Please fix this.
