3.9 Moovit: Your Transit Tracker is a powerful app designed to simplify your commuting experience. With its user-friendly interface and robust features, it has become an essential tool for navigating public transportation. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who relies heavily on public transportation, I find myself using Moovit almost daily. Whether I'm commuting to work, running errands, or exploring new neighborhoods, the app is my go-to companion. For instance, last week, I had a meeting across town. Instead of stressing over traffic, I opened Moovit to find the best route. The app suggested a combination of bus and subway that not only saved me time but also allowed me to enjoy a leisurely walk to the station. It’s moments like these that make me appreciate the convenience of having all transit options at my fingertips.
The user interface of Moovit is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate even for first-time users. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a simple layout that allows me to input my starting point and destination quickly. The feature workflow is seamless; I can switch between different transport modes with just a tap. Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without lag, even during peak hours when I need it the most. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app not only saves me time but also reduces the stress associated with commuting, making my daily travels much more enjoyable.
Moovit is free to download and use, which is a significant advantage for budget-conscious commuters. While there are premium features available, the core functionalities that most users need are accessible without any cost. This makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their public transport experience without breaking the bank.
The developers of Moovit are committed to providing regular updates, ensuring that the app remains relevant and functional. I’ve noticed improvements in the app’s performance and new features being added over time, which shows their dedication to user satisfaction. Additionally, customer support is readily available through the app, and I’ve found their response times to be quite prompt when I had a question about a feature. This level of support gives me confidence in using the app regularly.
As an American user, security and privacy are always top of mind when using apps like Moovit. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During the registration process, I was required to provide minimal personal data, which is a relief compared to many other apps that demand extensive information. Moovit does not bombard users with ads, which is a significant plus for me, as I prefer a clean interface without distractions. However, like many apps, it does collect some data for tracking purposes, but I appreciate that they are transparent about it. Overall, I feel secure using Moovit, knowing that my personal information is handled with care.

It's pretty bad. Basically they want a subscription to get the same information most transit agencies make publicly available for free. If you don't pay, you get constantly plagued by ads. In the first 5 minutes of using the app I had to click through an ad 7 times, most of which were Moovit self promoting it's subscription "features". The app is severely limited in utility without paying for the subscription.

The app is pretty good but I am using the free version so it's cluttered with ads. Also to join they want your credit card information and it says you Won't Be Charged for the Free Version.... well I just got a Fraud Alert where they were trying to Charge Me $39.99 when I was signing up so I ended up not giving them my card because they weren't being truthful.

The information is pretty good, but the lack of translations on key notices is frustrating. You can't even copy it to paste into a translator. If you try and share the detour, it's just a link back to the same page that can't be copied. You need a 2nd device to use as a camera to translate the notifications. Most folks don't carry a 2nd phone around for just such occasions. It mostly works well if you only need the standard info, but for the all important up to the minute detour -4.

1 star even for the ad-free version because an app like this NEEDS to work 99% of the time for people to get to where they need to go in a timely fashion. Many weeks in a row now, when I leave the house and need up to date information on arrivals, it says there is a "technical problem" and won't load, but it will load later! Pretty infuriating and makes me want to stick to Google Maps because I have already been deeply inconvenienced too much to bother renewing. EDIT: still won't work 4 wks l8er

I can't click a single thing without being blasted with an unskippable ad, and the x button just sends me to Aliexpress instead of closing the ad. I love trying to see if my bus is arriving, but I have to wait for the 100th ad to close. Go back to ads that are just banners, and don't block the entire screen because your "free" app is simply unusable. For now, I am just going to look for an alternative, this is ridiculous.
