4.1 Using Raya has become a delightful part of my daily routine. I often find myself scrolling through the app during my morning coffee, looking for new matches or checking out the latest events in my area. One evening, I decided to attend a local music showcase that I discovered through the app. It was a fantastic way to meet new people and enjoy live performances, all while feeling the creative energy that Raya promotes.
Another scenario where Raya shines is during travel. I recently visited a new city and used the app to connect with locals who shared my interests. I ended up meeting a fellow artist who took me to some hidden gems around town, making my trip even more memorable. The app truly enhances my social experiences, whether at home or on the go.
The user interface of Raya is sleek and modern, making navigation a breeze. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made it easy to browse through profiles. The feature workflow is intuitive; swiping through potential matches felt natural, and the messaging system was straightforward. I appreciated the ability to send quick voice messages, which added a personal touch to my conversations.
Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any glitches or lag, which is crucial for a seamless dating experience. Overall, my feelings after using Raya have been overwhelmingly positive. The sense of community and the quality of connections I’ve made have made my time on the app enjoyable and fulfilling.
Raya operates on a subscription model, which I found to be quite reasonable given the exclusive nature of the app. The pricing tiers offer flexibility, allowing users to choose a plan that fits their needs. I opted for the monthly subscription, which has provided me with full access to all features without feeling locked into a long-term commitment. The investment feels worthwhile, especially considering the quality of matches and events available.
Raya frequently updates its features, ensuring that the app remains fresh and engaging. I’ve noticed improvements in the messaging system and new event features that enhance user experience. The support team is responsive and helpful; I had a minor issue with my profile, and they resolved it quickly. This level of customer service adds to the overall positive experience of using the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, especially a dating platform like Raya. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, but I appreciated that Raya emphasizes privacy and does not ask for excessive data.
Raya does not bombard users with ads, which is a significant plus in my book. Instead, the app focuses on creating a premium experience without tracking behavior for advertising purposes. This commitment to user privacy makes me feel more secure while using the app, allowing me to focus on building connections without worrying about my data being misused.

The algorithm is literally designed to show you to a few people when you begin your profile, then disregard you until you pay for the subscription. After which, if you dont pay for the micro-transactions, it shows you to less and less people over time. Other apps utilize similar algorithms but only Bumble is as blatantly obvious in its use. You're much better off using Hinge, which is actually usable on a free account.

This app has become more predatory over the years. Have had a few good dates, but over time they've removed the requirement for women to message first, increased the cost of premium, and switched the spotlight system to 5 spotlights ($17) for a 2.5 hour boost instead of 2 spotlights. I'll go a few weeks without a like and without fail when my subscription ends one will pop up - and when I renew it's typically from someone well outside my 40+ mile area. At least Hinge seems more up front.

Too much is hidden behind unspoken paywalls. If they would tell you up front that you only have three compliments per day or you're only allowed to like one person out of the "for you" page, that knowledge would help you be more selective about who you're liking rather than just trying to keep your options open. The layout of the app itself is fine and straightforward, which I appreciate. I like the ability to leave Compliments which allows you to essentially message the person first.

Trying but still work to do. Take a note from Hinge, phone # blocking, allow backtrack and compliments (free) at least a couple week/month, allow age and race filters. It shouldn't be this hard to find someone that likes you. Endlessly swipe, and still never come across them. Should be first in que if this app is really about making connections. Discovery has potential. Needs to take into account past matches, likes, etc (filter would help). Get suggestions for women that aren't even close 😒

Not only does this app not make any sort of meaningful connections, it's way too expensive for premium, and the customer service is mediocre at best. I haven't used this app in weeks because I met someone (on a different app) and forgot to cancel, the subscription renewed, I immediately canceled and requested a refund because I don't use the app anymore, and they denied my refund, letting me know that I can "still enjoy the benefits until it ends". I'm not even using Bumble anymore. Useless.
