3.6 The "TomTom GO Expert: Truck GPS" app is designed specifically for truck drivers, offering a range of features that cater to the unique needs of larger vehicles. Here are some of the standout features that make this app a must-have for any trucker:
As a long-haul truck driver, I rely heavily on the "TomTom GO Expert: Truck GPS" app for my daily routes. One of my most memorable experiences was during a cross-country trip from California to New York. I had to navigate through various states, each with its own set of regulations and road conditions. The app's truck-specific routing feature was a lifesaver, guiding me through the safest and most efficient paths. Additionally, I often use the app to find truck stops along my route, ensuring I can take breaks and refuel without any hassle. On another occasion, while delivering goods to a remote area, the offline maps feature allowed me to stay on course even when my cell service dropped. The app has truly become an essential tool in my daily operations.
The user interface of the "TomTom GO Expert: Truck GPS" is intuitive and easy to navigate. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made it simple to input my destination. The feature workflow is seamless; I can quickly switch between map views, check traffic conditions, and access points of interest without any lag. The app's performance has been impressive, with quick route calculations and minimal downtime. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app not only enhances my efficiency on the road but also provides a sense of security, knowing that I have reliable navigation tailored for my truck.
The "TomTom GO Expert: Truck GPS" app is available for a subscription fee, which I found to be quite reasonable considering the extensive features it offers. The pricing model includes options for monthly or yearly subscriptions, allowing users to choose what best fits their needs. Given the time and fuel savings I’ve experienced, I believe the investment is well worth it for any serious truck driver.
TomTom regularly updates the app to ensure it remains current with road changes and traffic conditions. I’ve noticed improvements in the app's performance and additional features being rolled out over time. Customer support is also commendable; I had a minor issue with my account, and the support team was responsive and helpful, resolving my concern quickly. This level of support gives me confidence in the app's reliability.
When it comes to security and privacy, the "TomTom GO Expert: Truck GPS" app takes several measures to protect its users. It is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards of these platforms. Upon registration, the app requires minimal personal data, primarily focusing on vehicle specifications rather than sensitive personal information. This is a significant plus for American users who are increasingly concerned about data privacy.
Additionally, the app does not bombard users with ads, which can often be a source of frustration. Instead, it focuses on providing a clean user experience. While the app does collect some data for improving services, it is done transparently, and users can manage their privacy settings easily. Overall, I feel secure using the app, knowing that my information is handled responsibly.

not a bad app. my only issue is that when you put multiple stops for a trip it doesn't list the stops in the order they were typed in. It will show the start and finish destinations no problem, but any stops in-between that will not appear in order. Also, its unfortunate that you have to pay to use most trucker gps apps.

Traffic services aren't available, not on this app nor their hardware. It came back online for a single day weeks ago and then has been down since. Been using TomTom products since the beginning, but what exactly are we paying for if we're not getting the services we're "supposed" to get. Support has never even responded to my email when I reported a long-term traffic outage many others are having issues with as well.

I will not be renewing and I'm hoping by the end of the year. It will come out with another app system like MapQuest that will work on Android Auto. it has been putting me in traffic ------------update 1/28/26--- i have finally had enough even though I am not at the end of my subscription this app.Keeps putting me through subdivisions instead of keeping me on the main road going around them.(UNINSTALLING)NOW. 2/18/2026. uninstalled and not missing it, Free apps work as good and are FREE

It might get you there. Downloaded and installed this trying to get away from the Google option. They give you a whole week (woohoo) to try it out before paying for it. There were a couple of glitches that I just couldn't see paying for. In Android Auto, twice the display just stopped moving while driving in an area I've never been. Had to go back to Maps to get where I was going. AA always starts with North up. Would prefer to have the option to change that. And the cartoonishly large arrow??

I used it for a while and decided to try it again. I had to purchase it because I'm not eligible for the free trial again. Ot required me to download a map, which took a long time. It now shows a blue arrow (presumably where I am) against a totally blank background. I just wasted $5. Edit... finally got the map to load but it can't find a destination 7 hours away. Ugh
