4.0 Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) is a powerful application that transforms your smartphone into a comprehensive vehicle diagnostics tool. With its array of features, it caters to both car enthusiasts and everyday drivers looking to keep their vehicles in top shape. Here are some of the standout features that make this app a must-have:
As a car enthusiast and a daily commuter, I often find myself in situations where having Torque Pro at my fingertips is incredibly beneficial. One of my favorite scenarios is during long drives. I love to monitor my vehicle’s performance in real-time, especially when I’m on the highway. The app allows me to keep an eye on my fuel efficiency and engine temperature, ensuring that everything is running smoothly. Additionally, I’ve used it during routine maintenance checks. When it’s time for an oil change or tire rotation, I can quickly check for any trouble codes that might indicate underlying issues, giving me peace of mind before heading to the mechanic.
The user interface of Torque Pro is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for anyone to navigate, regardless of their technical expertise. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that allowed me to access various features with just a few taps. The workflow is seamless; connecting to my OBD-II adapter was a breeze, and I was able to start monitoring my vehicle’s data almost instantly. The performance of the app is impressive, with minimal lag and quick data refresh rates. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app not only provides valuable insights into my vehicle’s performance but also enhances my driving experience by keeping me informed.
Torque Pro is reasonably priced, especially considering the wealth of features it offers. The app is available for a one-time purchase, which I found to be a great value compared to subscription-based models. Additionally, there are optional in-app purchases for advanced features and plugins, allowing users to customize their experience further. I appreciate that I can invest in the app once and enjoy its benefits without worrying about recurring fees.
The developers of Torque Pro are committed to providing regular updates, which is crucial for maintaining compatibility with new vehicles and improving functionality. I’ve noticed several updates since I started using the app, each enhancing the user experience and adding new features. The support team is also responsive; I reached out with a question about a specific feature, and they replied promptly with helpful information. This level of support gives me confidence in the app’s reliability.
When it comes to security and privacy, Torque Pro takes several measures to ensure user safety. The app is available on official app stores, such as the Google Play Store, which adds a layer of trust. Upon installation, I was pleased to find that the app does not require excessive personal data for registration. It primarily needs access to the OBD-II interface, which is standard for such applications. Additionally, I noticed minimal ads, and there’s no intrusive tracking behavior, which is a significant concern for many users today. Overall, I feel secure using Torque Pro, knowing that my data is handled responsibly.

capabilities very limited. This app has not been updated in a long time and what you can do compared to other apps is very weak. it cannot read most modules only the power train. It has no bi-directional controls. I even have the paid version which is not much different than the free one. It's been a disappointment. I have free apps that are better.

Its good for basic code reader and info but for diy w/difficult probs it gets in the way. Examples: you can view chart of rear O2(s) and see if CAT(s) work. But, can't command things which then requires unplugging or replacing parts causing increased difficulty, so maybe prob elsewhere or not. I find it mostly only useful for fuel trims and clearing codes, and can see when the computer finishes checks after battery reset. And easy to see while driving around testing. Better things do exist.

I opted for pro quite some time ago, and it has indeed paid off, and been a blast to use. I've thoroughly enjoyed designing my own dashboard with dials that closely emulate my vehicle's dashboard. Upon seeing no updates for over a year suggests that, while still safe and functional, is abandoned. My '24 car isn't being properly read in CO and coolant temp values, so moving on to something else.

It just works better. I've been using Torque almost since it was released, and have found it to be a reliable and invaluable resource for keeping my car on the road. It pulls the same obd codes as much more expensive options, and has much more comprehensive visualization and logging metrics. Whether you're hoping to quickly clear a code from a loose gas cap, or running it on a dedicated device for track day telemetry, this is probably the best app you will find.

USED & LOVED THIS APP FOR YEARS, BUT IT JUST ABANDONED ME. I started my car yesterday, and opened the app, only to find that the data had changed from visible to a new low contrast shade that was impossible to read. I tried maxing out the brightness setting, but still could not read the data while driving. I'm left with the option of changing the format of each individual, but there is nothing available to replace the feed I was receiving until now. Dec 8, 2025. Chat GTP steered me to a fix!
