4.4 Truecaller: Spam Call Blocker is a powerful tool designed to help users manage unwanted calls and enhance their communication experience. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who juggles multiple responsibilities, I often find myself inundated with calls from unknown numbers. Truecaller has become my go-to app for managing these interruptions. For example, while working from home, I received a call from a number that I didn’t recognize. Thanks to Truecaller, I could see that it was flagged as a spam call, allowing me to focus on my tasks without the distraction of answering unwanted calls. Additionally, during my daily commute, I often get calls from telemarketers. With Truecaller’s call blocking feature, I’ve been able to silence these nuisances, making my travel time much more enjoyable.
The user interface of Truecaller is sleek and intuitive, making it easy for anyone to navigate. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that displayed recent calls and messages. The workflow is seamless; I can quickly access the spam list, block numbers, or search for unknown callers. The performance is impressive, with the app running smoothly without any noticeable lag. I particularly appreciate the notifications that alert me to spam calls in real-time, which adds an extra layer of convenience. Overall, my experience with Truecaller has been overwhelmingly positive, as it has significantly reduced the number of unwanted calls I receive.
Truecaller offers a free version that includes essential features, but for those looking for an ad-free experience and additional functionalities, there’s a premium subscription available. The premium version unlocks features like advanced spam blocking, the ability to see who viewed your profile, and more. I opted for the premium subscription after a month of using the free version, as the added features were worth the investment for my daily needs.
Truecaller is regularly updated, ensuring that users benefit from the latest features and improvements. I’ve noticed enhancements in spam detection and overall app performance with each update. The support team is responsive and helpful; I reached out once with a query about a feature, and they replied promptly with a detailed explanation. This level of customer service adds to my overall satisfaction with the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, especially one that deals with personal communication. Truecaller is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. However, upon registration, the app requires access to your contacts and phone number, which may raise privacy concerns for some users. It’s essential to be aware that while Truecaller uses this data to enhance its services, it also means sharing your information with the app’s database.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, the free version of Truecaller does display ads, which can be intrusive at times. However, the premium version eliminates these ads, providing a smoother user experience. Truecaller has a transparent privacy policy, detailing how user data is handled, but it’s always wise to review these policies to ensure you’re comfortable with the level of data sharing involved. Overall, while Truecaller offers excellent features for managing spam calls, users should remain vigilant about their privacy and data security.

Worst customer support I've ever dealt with. been trying to solve not being able to successfully send or receive basic texts reliably since 4 months ago and they reply like once a month and then ask for insane amounts of proof and once provided they just close the ticket and say their app doesn't support MMS, which was never what the issue was. if your app can't send basic SMS texts, but every other app I've used can just fine, don't force people to make it their default messaging app.

Full of ads, wouldn't stop sending me notifications that I don't need about how I am not using the app for text messages when I don't need or want to use the app for text messages, and loads of audio ducking. Couldn't even get through a whole song without it going quieter at least three times. More annoying than the spam calls I was trying to block.

it's irritating when the profile of a caller appears on screen after the call. and in order to hide that they ask you to buy a premium membership, that also disgusting. now I have to uninstall this app unfortunately. event you get paid for ads we saw in your application and you still want us to pay for this. I don't like profile pop up on screen in middle of my work. i know this review doesn't change a damn thing. thank you Truecaller for irritating.

It's okay. The app is nice in that it has caller ID built in that gives more info than your phones caller ID. You can report and block scammers also which is nice. It has the tendency to block more legit businesses than actual scammers though. I still get unknown calls that slip through, but my bank or tax company or other legit business will get blocked. The caller ID and notification boxes are invasive and screen covering.

Truecaller is a well-designed app, and my experience with it has been excellent. As an Android user, I would love to see more customization options to enhance the experience even further. For example more options to customize the call screen. Pls can you guys make the the contact photo to be full screen and not half screen. Thank you!
