4.6 EVgo Fast EV Charging Stations is a game-changer for electric vehicle (EV) owners, providing a seamless charging experience across the United States. Here are some of the standout features that make this app a must-have for anyone with an electric vehicle:
As a daily commuter and an avid road tripper, I find myself using the EVgo app in various scenarios. On weekdays, I often need to charge my vehicle during my lunch break. The app allows me to locate the nearest charging station quickly, ensuring I can top off my battery while enjoying a meal. On weekends, I love taking spontaneous road trips, and the app has become my go-to tool for planning these adventures. For example, during a recent trip to the mountains, I used the app to find charging stations along the route, allowing me to enjoy the scenic drive without worrying about running out of power.
The user interface of the EVgo app is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that makes navigation a breeze. The main screen displays a map with nearby charging stations, and I can easily filter by charging speed or availability. The workflow is smooth; I can quickly select a station, view its details, and start the charging process with just a few taps. Performance-wise, the app is responsive, and I’ve never experienced any lag or crashes. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I feel confident using the app for all my charging needs.
EVgo offers competitive pricing for its charging services, with rates varying based on location and charging speed. Users can choose between pay-as-you-go options or subscription plans that provide discounted rates for frequent users. I opted for a subscription plan, which has significantly reduced my charging costs, making it a worthwhile investment for my electric vehicle.
The EVgo app is regularly updated, ensuring that users benefit from the latest features and improvements. I’ve noticed enhancements in the app’s navigation and real-time availability features, which have made my charging experience even smoother. Additionally, the customer support team is responsive and helpful. I once had a question about my account, and they resolved it quickly, demonstrating their commitment to user satisfaction.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, especially one that involves personal data and financial transactions. The EVgo app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. During registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my name and email address, which is standard for most apps. I appreciate that EVgo has a clear privacy policy outlining how my data is used and protected.
Importantly, the app does not bombard users with ads, and I have not noticed any intrusive tracking behavior. This focus on user privacy makes me feel more secure while using the app, allowing me to concentrate on what matters most—charging my vehicle and getting back on the road.

Update Evgo app doesn't allow you to stop the charge from your phone. The touch screen malfunctions at various locations but cx svc picks up quickyand getd me on my way. Both ChaDemos on the West side are infamous for having to call customer service to stop charging. Evgo chargers cost more up front than other stations and are slower. I often have to plug in and disconnect then try again because it couldn't connect the first time.

The chargers only work 30% of the time and if you contact customer support they're completely unhelpful. they can't answer simple questions in a timely fashion that should be available in the app. The app tells you your charging credits can expire but it won't tell you when. If you contact customer support they can't tell you either. If I didn't receive charging credits for evgo when I bought my car I wouldn't use their chargers. completely unreliable, about on par with Electrify America.

maybe not the cheapest but it's hella reliable and the hold is only $5 if you go through the app otherwise it's $55 every time and they hold it for like 3 to 5 business days each charge. call Luke driver so I was doing this multiple times a day at one point I had $200 in held funds. but if you go through the app it's only a $5 hold if you charge a lot the plus Max plan is actually a very good deal and pays for itself and basically one or two charges, usually one for me.

App is slow and clunky, does not accurately display chargers available/in use. Prices have gone up and the peak pricing is ridiculous, there are much cheaper options. I can't even see the screens on the physical charger, have to use the app to see my progress and it takes awhile to load even on strong 5g.

Only one car charging when I arrived. I plugged into Lakota. It said my car was not plugged in and to connect the cable to my car. I stopped the session and replugged the car. same thing. several morre attemps. I moved over to the next charger. it said it was offline. I went to the last charger. It said it was last used 45 minutes before me. It worked. Seems to be charging fast enough.
