4.7 When it comes to home design and remodeling, "Houzz - Home Design & Remodel" stands out as a comprehensive tool that caters to both homeowners and professionals. Here are some of its core features that make it a must-have app for anyone looking to enhance their living space:
As someone who loves home improvement, I often find myself reaching for the Houzz app in various scenarios. Recently, I decided to give my living room a makeover. I started by browsing through the extensive photo library to gather inspiration. I saved several images that caught my eye, creating a personalized ideabook that I could refer back to later. Additionally, when I needed to find a local contractor to help with the installation of new shelves, I turned to the professional directory. I was able to read reviews and view portfolios, which made it easy to choose someone who matched my style and budget.
The user interface of Houzz is intuitive and visually appealing. Navigating through the app feels seamless, with well-organized categories that make it easy to find what you're looking for. The feature workflow is straightforward; I can quickly switch between browsing photos, reading articles, and connecting with professionals. Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any lag, even when loading high-resolution images. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app not only inspires me but also empowers me to take actionable steps toward my home improvement goals.
Houzz is free to download and use, which is a significant advantage for anyone looking to explore home design without financial commitment. While there are in-app purchases available for certain products, the core features of the app remain accessible to all users. This makes it an excellent resource for both casual users and serious renovators alike.
The developers of Houzz are proactive in providing updates that enhance the user experience. I’ve noticed regular improvements and new features that keep the app fresh and relevant. Additionally, customer support is readily available through the app, with a comprehensive FAQ section and the option to contact support directly for any issues. This level of attention to user feedback is commendable and adds to the overall reliability of the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, and Houzz takes these concerns seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. During the registration process, I was required to provide basic personal information, but the app clearly outlines how this data will be used, which is reassuring.
Moreover, Houzz does not bombard users with intrusive ads, and I have not noticed any excessive tracking behavior. The app respects user privacy while still providing a personalized experience. Overall, I feel confident using Houzz, knowing that my information is handled with care and that I can enjoy the app without worrying about my privacy being compromised.

I signed up through the app less than an hour ago. Now I'm signed out, and it won't let me sign back in. Before I was signed out, I was unable to edit my profile. Several menu items were also broken. Touching triggers a very fast loading notice, then it disappeared and nothing happens. I am at home with a strong WiFi connection. I want to like this app, but right now I don't think I can even use it. Developers, please get some testers and UX people and pay attention to their feedback.

Difficult to find your recent posts. When you click "recent activity" it shows nothing, even after you have just posted. When you do view your posts, they are backwards. Most importantly, there is no option to "EDIT" your posts. If you go on the actual website, it still brings you to the mobile version and during editing, your texts keep deleting as you type. I gotta say, this is the worst app for posting on a forum that I have ever used and it's been like this for a long time.

I really like this app, it is easy to use and looks professional. I do wish that my ideabook list could be organized alphabetically because I don't like how it organizes by the last one I viewed. I also don't like that every time I delete a photo it flashes and reloads the whole board and then I have to find my place again.

The AR capabilities are neat... but the constant requests to allow access to my contacts is obnoxious. Even when I select "don't ask again" and deny permissions on the android prompt, the app still asks me to go into my settings and enable access to contacts every time I want to save a picture. and then always takes me a "share" screen which I have to back out of. I don't want to send the pictures to anyone, and I certainly am not going to give a furniture app access to my contacts.

The app I've never been impressed with. The bait and switch tactics for recruiting laborers (calling as a potential customer and asking if i did tile work and bathroom remodels) is almost misrepresentation. Having a person run circles to get logged into a machine for a walkthrough only to tell them AFTER they are connected, that you don't work with unlicensed handymen . I'm not sure if the event was due to lack of organization or prep work for them, but it wasted my time & was upsetting.
