Features & Highlights

The Home Depot app is a powerful tool for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike, offering a range of features that make home improvement projects easier and more efficient. Here are some of the standout features that I found particularly useful:

  • Product Search & Availability: The app allows you to search for products and check their availability in your local store. For instance, while planning a weekend project, I was able to quickly find the exact paint color I needed and confirm that it was in stock at my nearby Home Depot.
  • Barcode Scanning: This feature lets you scan product barcodes to get instant information, including pricing and reviews. I used this while shopping in-store to compare prices and read customer feedback on a specific tool I was considering purchasing.
  • Order Tracking: After placing an online order, I appreciated the ability to track my shipment directly through the app. It provided real-time updates, so I knew exactly when to expect my new power drill to arrive.
  • Project Lists: The app allows you to create and manage project lists, which is perfect for organizing materials for multiple projects. I found this feature invaluable when planning my backyard renovation, as I could keep track of everything I needed in one place.
  • In-Store Navigation: The app includes a store map feature that helps you navigate the aisles of your local Home Depot. This was a game-changer during my last visit, as I was able to find the garden supplies section quickly without wandering around aimlessly.

Painfully slow. The app has the potential to be great but it feels like using dial-up internet. Filter for products, etc. consistently is frustratingly slow to the point it makes me want to look elsewhere. I don't have those types of issues on my phone with other apps be it competitors or other types of apps all together.

It never lets me log in. Like it won't even accept my email alone. I have no such issues on the website. Filter is absolute garbage. I have it set to certain things and the search pulls up things that don't match. If I have the results sorted by price the app just shows them in random order. Totally useless app. Edit: no it keeps crashing with a white screen. It's 2025. Is it really THAT hard to hire someone who can create a reliable app for such a big company?!

The app is so very slow. Every time you go back to your search from looking at an item or change pages it resets the sort settings. when trying to search for a selection of colors, it filters out everything if it doesn't match all the colors in the search (and vs or). If you leave the app in the background and come back to it, it resets as well. This app definitely needs improving. The website is not any better than the app. Compared against Lowes' app, Lowes has a significantly better platform.

I can no longer sign on with the app and haven't been able to for months. I can when using a computer so I know my user account still exists. Very bad mobile user experience. When I do search for something all that comes up are blank spaces where the picture of the item is supposed to be. I'm sure they've lost out on a few purchases because of this app. Might as well uninstall it as it no longer works for me.

every time when I open this, I have to log back in, and they require a security code to log in. so they send me a code via email, I open my email, check the code, go back to enter it...then the security code page gets reset and I have to start all over again!! since and repeat. seriously, I've never ordered A THING using this app. it's just easier to use my pc to order it, and it's still pain. completely useless app for me. oh yeah, its loading speed is so slow, too.
