4.8 Hotels.com: Travel Booking is a powerful app that simplifies the process of finding and booking accommodations. With a user-friendly interface and a plethora of features, it caters to both casual travelers and seasoned globetrotters. Here are some of the core features that stand out:
As someone who travels frequently for both work and leisure, I often find myself reaching for the Hotels.com app. Just last month, I had a business trip to Chicago. I needed to book a hotel quickly, and the app made it incredibly easy. I opened the app, entered my travel dates, and within minutes, I had a list of suitable hotels. I was able to filter my search by amenities, price, and location, which helped me find a hotel close to my meeting venue. The ease of use in such scenarios is what makes this app a staple in my travel toolkit.
The user interface of Hotels.com is sleek and intuitive. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made navigation a breeze. The search function is straightforward; I simply input my destination and travel dates, and the app quickly generated a list of options. Each hotel listing includes high-quality images, detailed descriptions, and user reviews, which helped me make informed decisions. The booking process was seamless, and I appreciated the option to save my payment information for future bookings. Overall, my experience with the app has been positive, with fast performance and a user-friendly design that enhances my travel planning.
Hotels.com offers competitive pricing, often featuring exclusive deals that can save you money. The app frequently runs promotions, such as discounts for first-time users or seasonal sales. I found that the prices listed were often lower than those on other travel booking sites, especially when I utilized the rewards program. The ability to earn free nights is a fantastic incentive that adds value to my bookings.
The app is regularly updated, ensuring that users have access to the latest features and improvements. I recently encountered a minor issue with my booking, and the customer support team was incredibly responsive. I reached out via the app's chat feature, and within minutes, I received assistance. The support team was knowledgeable and resolved my issue efficiently, which left me feeling valued as a customer.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using travel booking apps like Hotels.com. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During the registration process, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my name, email address, and payment details. I appreciated that the app uses encryption to protect my data, ensuring that my information remains secure.
In terms of ads and tracking behavior, I noticed that the app does utilize targeted advertising based on my search history. While this can be beneficial for personalized offers, I am always cautious about how my data is used. Fortunately, Hotels.com provides options to manage privacy settings, allowing me to control what information I share. Overall, I feel confident using the app, knowing that my security and privacy are taken seriously.

Keeps refusing reservation payments *after* sending me an email saying it's been confirmed, resulting in funds sitting in pending status for about 10 days before finally refunding. Their customer service claims it's a security issue but will not elaborate. I'd been using the same account with them to book places for years now but only ran into this issue with my most recent vacation attempt that just ended up just causing me more stress instead.

I am very disappointed in this process on the app. Usually if you cancel in advance they will refund your money. I booked on the wrong weekend for my trip. I tried to change the dates and the price doubled. seeing that they already have the money for the trip I needed to cancel, wait for the refund and rebook. Needless to say I never received my refund and my sister had to book through another app not wanting to risk her money. traveling without money sucks.😞 Do better!

Straight forward pricing, easy to use layout, basic processing of information, no extra surprise fees, options to reserve and pay when checking in, or pay ahead of checking on. They will communicate and advocate for you to the hotel directly, in the event of a family emergency if you end up needing to cancel your reservation and you do not check-in. Your stay history is automatically saved as well.

I'll just say that I am glad they are in the process of renovation which I don't recall them mentioning it before I booked. (maybe I overlooked it) the pics online were beautiful. When we pulled up I was not prepared for the place to be opposite of that. They seem to be renovating the main areas however I hope that the rooms will follow. The carpets are stained, the inside of the room was dingy, old looking. The bathroom was the absolute worst. Ceilings peeling, stained head boards.

Horrible app. Changed dates from what I searched. Had to book a last minute room which the agent said wasnt available, but it was. Then they canceled out the date they changed and didn't refund me any of my money. Going to be disputing this with my credit card. Definitely going to stick to booking directly through Capital One Travel or American Express.
