4.4 The Kroger app is a powerful tool for grocery shopping that goes beyond just a digital shopping list. It offers a variety of features designed to enhance the shopping experience, making it easier and more efficient. Here are some of the core features that stand out:
As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling work, family, and social commitments. The Kroger app has become an essential part of my routine. For instance, on a typical Saturday morning, I sit down with my coffee and plan my meals for the week. I open the app, browse through the weekly ads, and clip any relevant coupons. This not only saves me money but also helps me stick to my meal plan.
Another scenario is during my lunch breaks at work. I often use the app to quickly add items to my shopping list. If I remember that I’m out of coffee or need more snacks for the kids, I can add them to my list in seconds. This way, I’m always prepared for my grocery runs after work.
The user interface of the Kroger app is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that makes navigation a breeze. The main menu is well-organized, allowing me to access my shopping list, coupons, and store locator with just a few taps. The feature workflow is seamless; for example, adding items to my shopping list is as simple as searching for the product and clicking “Add.”
Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any lag, which is crucial when I’m in a hurry. I appreciate the quick loading times, especially when I’m trying to find a specific coupon or product. Overall, my experience with the Kroger app has been overwhelmingly positive, making grocery shopping less of a chore and more of a streamlined process.
The Kroger app is free to download and use, which is a significant advantage for budget-conscious shoppers. There are no hidden fees or subscription costs associated with using the app. The savings I’ve accrued through digital coupons and fuel points have more than compensated for any potential costs, making it a valuable tool for anyone looking to save money on groceries.
Kroger frequently updates its app to enhance user experience and introduce new features. I’ve noticed improvements in the app’s speed and functionality with each update, which shows that the developers are committed to providing a top-notch experience. Additionally, customer support is readily available through the app, offering assistance for any issues I might encounter. I appreciate the quick response times and helpful solutions provided by the support team.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, including Kroger. The Kroger app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. During the registration process, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my name, email address, and phone number. This information is essential for creating an account and accessing personalized features.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, I’ve noticed that the app does display personalized ads based on my shopping habits. However, I appreciate that Kroger provides options to manage my privacy settings, allowing me to control how my data is used. Overall, I feel secure using the Kroger app, knowing that my personal information is protected and that I have control over my privacy settings.

The app was rough, then got better, and now is rough again. you can't search for a specific food or the programing is so bad it won't give you accurate search results. I was looking for prices on chix breasts and got liquor and cheese at top of results, there was some frozen nuggets as well. way down list there were some listed, but its like their "coupons" that are in some random order. kinda useless. the sort/filter does not reduce the mess. it's bad AI for you, but probably what kroger wants

app has always been slow, I had gotten used to it. The latest update is absolutely trash. I used to be able to scan item barcodes in the store and see if there were any applicable coupons, not anymore. Overall usage of the app has plummeted. HEB and Walmart apps are both so much easier to use, which sucks because I do 90% of my grocery shopping at Kroger.

A few of the bugs have been fixed but when clipping coupons or looking for weekly ad items to add to my list it still says no applicable items. I have to go back to a main screen and then search for each item before being able to 'add to list'. Rather annoying and frustrating process. Also the my favorites and my sale items on the home screen are blank, previous purchases is there but tap on an item and get a message saying it is unavailable. so yet more stuff i have to individually search for.

This app seems to get worse and worse as time goes on. When trying to add items, there are so many glitches. Items don't add to your cart, random items are added, you select an item, but it goes to the previous search, or quantities don't update. Also, the majority of time, it will say an item is out of stock/unavailable, but if we go into the store, it's in stock. Then you complete your order, pick it up, and unload only to realize items that were in your cart were not added. This app is awful!

I'm finally giving up on Kroger and the app. I regularly have to contact customer service after shopping trips because of incorrect charges, clipped coupons didn't apply, the correct number of fuel points weren't awarded, or other issues. As many reviewers have noted, the terrible app is the source of most problems. There are many updates, but core usability and coupon/sales remain frustrating. Once I get through the current round of points, I'll be uninstalling and shopping at competitors.
