4.5 As a busy professional juggling work and personal commitments, I often find it challenging to attend in-person therapy sessions. That's where "Telehealth by SimplePractice" comes into play. I typically use the app for my weekly therapy appointments, which I can easily schedule around my work commitments. On one occasion, I had a last-minute meeting that overlapped with my usual session time. Thanks to the app's flexible scheduling feature, I was able to reschedule my appointment for later that day without any hassle. Additionally, I’ve used the app for follow-up consultations with my nutritionist, making it a versatile tool for various health-related needs.
The user interface of "Telehealth by SimplePractice" is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean layout that made navigation a breeze. The video conferencing feature is straightforward; I simply click on the appointment link, and I’m connected instantly. The workflow is seamless, from scheduling appointments to accessing my client portal. I particularly enjoy the notifications that remind me of upcoming sessions, which help me stay organized. Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly on both my smartphone and tablet, with minimal lag during video calls. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, as it has made managing my health appointments much more convenient.
Telehealth by SimplePractice offers a variety of pricing plans tailored to different needs. The basic plan starts at a competitive rate, which includes essential features like video conferencing and scheduling. For those who require more advanced functionalities, such as insurance billing and additional client management tools, there are higher-tier plans available. I found the pricing to be reasonable, especially considering the convenience and quality of service provided.
The app is regularly updated, which is a significant plus. I’ve noticed improvements in video quality and new features being added over time, enhancing my overall experience. Customer support is also commendable; I reached out once with a question about billing, and the response was prompt and helpful. The support team is knowledgeable and genuinely seems to care about user satisfaction, which adds to my confidence in using the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when it comes to telehealth services. "Telehealth by SimplePractice" is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which reassures me about its credibility. The registration process requires basic personal information, but I appreciate that it adheres to HIPAA regulations, ensuring my data is protected. There are no intrusive ads or tracking behaviors that compromise my privacy, which is a significant concern for many users. Overall, I feel secure using this app, knowing that my sensitive information is handled with care and professionalism.

The app is very reliable for me, I have not had any issues. The only complaint I have is the inability to minimize the app and multitask; for example, if I want to look at my calendar while talking to somebody through the app, I can't. The app mutes me, I lose connection or it appears I lose connection, but when I come back they tell me "oh I didn't hear anything you said."

If you leave the app to troubleshoot A/V or anything, you leave the appointment. If the clinician does so, it ends the appointment. Connectivity is poor. We often try to get it to work (sometimes we have the right link but it doesn't let us in) several times with different links and after 10 minutes switch to a phone call if it still isn't working.

Very difficult to use. Can't navigate away from the app on my phone without disconnecting. That means I can't look at my notes for the appointment or check my calendar to schedule for my next appointment. Often, almost always blurry. Even at the highest pixel rating. My therapist appears in a head shot, often most of their face is cut off unless they sit perfectly unnaturally still. Audio is good. Fix the visuals and allow the app to minimize when I need to use a different app on my phone

This app didn't work correctly for almost an entire week. It lacks some basic quality-of-life features that other (much cheaper HIPAA compliant options) have. And it is generally unreliable. If you have not invested into the Simple Practice platform yet, I say avoid it. The technology is spotty, but their built-in ads for their AI features somehow always work great. So take that for what you will.

most appointment times I use the app on my computer and it is perfect. Today I only had my phone. I could log in, but even when therapist tried to admit me to appointment it didn't work. it was the "living room" couch and lamp waiting room and neither one of us could see each other even when we tried going back and coming/ admitting back in several more times so it just ended up being a phone conversation. It was disappointing 😔
