4.7 Lumosity: Brain Training Games is a popular app designed to enhance cognitive abilities through engaging and scientifically-backed games. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who juggles a busy work schedule and personal commitments, I often find myself looking for quick yet effective ways to keep my mind sharp. I typically use Lumosity during my morning commute, turning what could be idle time into a productive brain workout. Whether I’m on the subway or waiting for my coffee, I can easily pull out my phone and dive into a game. Additionally, I’ve found it helpful to use the app during lunch breaks at work, allowing me to recharge my mental batteries before diving back into tasks.
The user interface of Lumosity is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through the various games and features. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a friendly dashboard that displays my daily training recommendations and progress. The workflow is seamless; I can quickly select a game, and the app provides clear instructions before I start. Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any lag, which is crucial when I’m trying to focus. After using Lumosity for several weeks, I’ve noticed not only improvements in my cognitive skills but also a boost in my overall mood. The games are engaging and often humorous, making brain training feel less like a chore and more like a fun challenge.
Lumosity offers a free version with limited access to games, which is great for casual users. However, for those looking to unlock the full potential of the app, a premium subscription is available. The subscription provides unlimited access to all games, personalized training programs, and in-depth performance insights. I opted for the premium plan after a week of using the free version, as I wanted to explore all the features and truly challenge myself.
The Lumosity team is proactive in providing updates and improvements to the app. I’ve noticed regular updates that introduce new games and features, keeping the experience fresh. Additionally, their customer support is responsive; I had a minor issue with my account, and they resolved it quickly through their help center. It’s reassuring to know that the developers are committed to enhancing user experience and addressing any concerns promptly.
When it comes to security and privacy, Lumosity takes user concerns seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards of these platforms. During registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my email address and date of birth, which is standard for most apps. However, I appreciate that Lumosity allows users to control their privacy settings, including opting out of data sharing.
In terms of ads and tracking behavior, I’ve noticed that the app is relatively free of intrusive advertisements, which enhances the user experience. While it does collect data to personalize training and improve game performance, I feel comfortable knowing that my information is handled responsibly. Overall, Lumosity strikes a good balance between providing a personalized experience and maintaining user privacy, making it a trustworthy choice for brain training.

It's very cool that this game's teaching skills that can be helpful, and you can get away with playing for free. The free content here are 3 daily games, alongside a measurement of how you're performing. But, they're quick to urge you to spend on the costly subscription (showing more games, unlocks insights, unlocks more statistics) at $15/month, $89/year, it's rather demanding for an app. But you don't really need that stuff if you're casual. Worth trying out, but try not to spend on this game

Love these game so much! I've played for years, but sadly, it's just too expensive to pay for preminum. I still enjoy the free version but some days I dont like the three game options. I wish they would open up other games or create payment tiers for player who want more games but can't afford that price yearly or monthly. Fun brain exercises and a great way to relax.

fun games to keep your mind sharp. there are a lot of different games to play designed to strengthen your cognitive abilities and they don't have ads. the free version is fun but I recommend a lifetime membership to be able to play any games you choose. "train of thought" is my favorite. customer service is real people to help with any issues you encounter.

I really enjoy the free version of this app and plan on getting the paid version to access all the games. I only have one issue; I wish there were some metric in the free version that tells you how well you did in the game. In elevate, even in the free version, you're graded on if you did good, great, or excellent based on how many mistakes you made and the time left over. It feels kind of pointless to keep my streak in the meantime.

The coding and art is nice, but the app itself feels fairly useless - the mini games are cute, but don't actually help with much and feel very rail-roaded. There are much better options out there for actual brain-training, depending on what focus you're looking for (memory / language / math / etc.) and Lumosity isn't worth ANYWHERE near the cost it asks for. Other apps may be more expensive in their subscriptions, but are much more worth it in actual functional training aids in my opinion.
