4.5 As someone who travels frequently for work, I often find myself in situations where knowing the local language can make a significant difference. For example, during a recent business trip to Spain, I used Memrise to brush up on my Spanish. I practiced phrases that would help me navigate meetings and social events, such as greetings and polite expressions. The app's focus on conversational skills allowed me to engage more meaningfully with my colleagues, breaking down language barriers and fostering better relationships.
The user interface of Memrise is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through different courses and levels. Upon opening the app, I am greeted with a friendly dashboard that displays my progress and upcoming lessons. The feature workflow is seamless; I can quickly switch between vocabulary practice, listening exercises, and grammar lessons without feeling overwhelmed. The app's performance is impressive, with minimal loading times and smooth transitions between activities. Overall, using Memrise feels like a fun game rather than a chore, which keeps me coming back for more.
Memrise offers a free version that provides access to a substantial amount of content, but for those looking for a more comprehensive experience, the premium subscription is worth considering. The premium version unlocks additional features such as offline access, personalized learning plans, and advanced statistics. I opted for the premium subscription after a month of using the free version, and I found the extra features significantly enhanced my learning experience.
Memrise is committed to improving its platform, regularly rolling out updates that enhance functionality and user experience. I appreciate the responsive customer support team, which has been helpful whenever I encountered minor issues. The app also has a vibrant community forum where users can share tips and ask questions, making it easy to find support and motivation from fellow learners.
As an American user, I prioritize security and privacy when using apps, and Memrise does a commendable job in this regard. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. When registering, I was only required to provide basic information, such as my email address, which is a relief compared to apps that demand excessive personal data.
Memrise does not bombard users with ads, which is a significant plus for me. The premium subscription further eliminates any potential distractions, allowing for a focused learning experience. Additionally, the app's privacy policy is transparent, detailing how user data is handled and ensuring that my information remains secure. Overall, I feel confident using Memrise, knowing that my privacy is respected while I embark on my language-learning journey.

Used a few hours and am impressed compared to similar aps. I didn't know I could select more than 1 word list, so I wound up doing semi-advanced conversations for moving abroad, which is a bit too difficult currently (yet still had fun). I tried going backward in lessons but couldn't, so I deleted all progress and am starting anew. Lessons have no tags/labels, so navigation is a bit convoluted. Will have to see what else is on here and re-review.

This app has potential. My biggest things are having to pay to have the grammatically explained to you. Limiting those explanations make it harder to fully grasp language learning. Also, the lessons move way too fast. When answering a question, you can't just reflect on it for a second, because it almost immediately goes to the next question. Navigating through the app is overwhelming and showing lessons that free users cannot access is just distracting. Learning common phrases does help.

Arabic - Fantastic app for building vocabulary, spelling, and phrases that are useful. You get to choose your own vocab which is much better than being railroaded into nonsense sentences by Duolingo. please please add a 'move on' button between the answer and the next question. I need to sit with the correct answer for a minute before moving on, it helps with retention.

app is not as streamlined and navigable as something like duolingo, but the videos of real people using real language are unbeatable. Language is meant to be learned by face to face interaction, and I think their videos are the closest you can get when you aren't moving to a country to be immersed by the language. Big fan. The free version is great. You can choose scenarios to work on specific stuff like preparing for travel.

Hello developers, your software is excellent, but I would like to request that you add a feature to the learned words sorting interface, allowing for sorting by the order in which I learned the words. This is because I copied down words and phrases during the learning process, and I want the sorting to match my learning order, but the word order gets messed up after reviewing. If you adopt my suggestion, I will be very happy. Finally, thank you for developing this application!
