4.6 My journey with Rosetta Stone began when I decided to learn Spanish for an upcoming trip to Mexico. I wanted to immerse myself in the culture and communicate effectively with locals. I found myself using the app during my daily commute, in coffee shops, and even while waiting in line at the grocery store. The bite-sized lessons fit perfectly into my busy schedule, allowing me to practice vocabulary and phrases whenever I had a few spare minutes. Additionally, I used the app to prepare for a business meeting with a Spanish-speaking client, which helped me feel more confident and professional.
The user interface of Rosetta Stone is clean and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. The lessons are structured in a way that gradually builds on previous knowledge, which I found incredibly helpful. Each session typically includes a mix of listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises, keeping the learning process dynamic and engaging. I particularly enjoyed the speech recognition feature, which provided immediate feedback on my pronunciation. The app's performance was smooth, with minimal lag, even when I was using it on my older smartphone. Overall, I felt a sense of accomplishment after each session, as I could see my progress reflected in the app's tracking system.
Rosetta Stone offers a variety of pricing plans, including monthly, yearly, and lifetime subscriptions. I opted for the yearly plan, which provided a significant discount compared to the monthly option. While the upfront cost may seem steep, I found the investment worthwhile given the quality of the content and the effectiveness of the learning methods. Plus, the flexibility of the app means I can learn at my own pace, making it a valuable resource for anyone serious about language acquisition.
Rosetta Stone frequently updates its app to enhance user experience and introduce new features. I appreciated the regular notifications about new content and improvements, which kept me engaged. The customer support team is responsive and helpful, addressing any questions I had about the app or my subscription. I also found the online community forums to be a great resource for tips and motivation from fellow learners, further enriching my experience with the app.
As an American user, I prioritize security and privacy when using apps, and Rosetta Stone does not disappoint. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards of these platforms. During registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my email address and a password, which felt standard and secure. I was pleased to find that the app does not bombard users with ads, and I did not notice any intrusive tracking behavior while using it. Overall, I felt confident that my data was handled responsibly, allowing me to focus on my language learning without concerns about privacy.

I don't know what is being used to detect how you're saying a word but no other app has had problems "hearing" what I say. I can't even get the words in the first lesson "right" despite attempting speech fast, slow, regular speed, and with a native speaker saying I'm saying it correctly. I have the voice settings "on easy" and it still isn't working properly.

Direct language immersion is great so far, it feels like great practice for a beginner, but it often feels like the lessons are too structured and I struggle to pay attention. I still haven't found the exact fit I need for me, as I have tried four different language learning apps so far. One of them was well beyond what I've learned (AI driven), and with the others I struggle to keep my already limited attention span (ADHD), or they feel really basic. This one is Ok, it just drains my dopamine.

The overall learning experience is great, but when I try to buy a lifetime membership, the website sends me immediately to the app. When I try to purchase through the app, it gives an error message. It winds up a vicious cycle, as I can't purchase through the app, and the website keeps sending me to the app. Very annoying.

absolutely amazing! I love this learning program. the style is unique and so easy to learn with! I am a visual learner so the pictures REALLY help and it's so much fun. It'd be the best mobile game if it was one! sooooo worth the money. I'm fascinated with languages and especially French, which is what I'm learning. I just completed the Unit 1 Language basics!!! I already know so much and I think I'm a natural! the picture word combos are great for visual learners. merci! J'adore.

Buyer beware! Buying the lifetime version was a big mistake. Free alternatives are better. Speech recognition fails often. Courses are chaotic & disjointed. Each lesson involves guessing which sentence is correct based on photos. The sentences are full of words that haven't been introduced before. Zero explanation or instruction, just guess. Rosetta Stone defrauded lifetime subscribers by dropping support & adding the word 'Sapphire' to their update so they can pretend it's a different product.
