4.8 Stellarium Mobile - Star Map is a powerful astronomy app that brings the night sky to your fingertips. With its rich features and user-friendly interface, it’s perfect for both amateur stargazers and seasoned astronomers. Here are some of the standout features that make this app a must-have:
As an avid stargazer, I often find myself wandering outside on clear nights, eager to explore the cosmos. One evening, I decided to take my family on a stargazing adventure. Armed with Stellarium Mobile, we ventured into our backyard, where the city lights faded into the distance. With the app open, I pointed my phone towards the sky, and instantly, the screen lit up with constellations and planets. My kids were fascinated as I showed them Orion, the Big Dipper, and even Jupiter, all while the app provided fascinating facts about each celestial body. It transformed a simple night into an educational experience, sparking their curiosity about the universe.
The user interface of Stellarium Mobile is sleek and intuitive, making it easy to navigate even for those who may not be tech-savvy. The main screen displays a stunning view of the night sky, and the controls are straightforward. I particularly appreciate the pinch-to-zoom feature, which allows me to get a closer look at specific stars or constellations. The app performs smoothly, with quick loading times and no noticeable lag, even when switching between different views. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive; it feels like I have a personal astronomy guide in my pocket, ready to assist me at any moment.
Stellarium Mobile is reasonably priced, offering a one-time purchase option that provides access to all its features without any hidden fees or subscriptions. This straightforward pricing model is refreshing in a world filled with in-app purchases and ads. For the value it provides, especially for astronomy enthusiasts, I believe it’s worth every penny.
The developers of Stellarium Mobile are committed to providing regular updates, ensuring that the app remains current with the latest astronomical discoveries and features. I’ve noticed several updates since I downloaded the app, each enhancing its functionality and user experience. Additionally, the support team is responsive and helpful, addressing any questions or concerns I’ve had promptly. This level of dedication gives me confidence in the app’s longevity and reliability.
When it comes to security and privacy, Stellarium Mobile takes a responsible approach. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. Upon installation, I was pleased to find that the app does not require extensive personal data or registration, which is a significant plus for privacy-conscious users. There are no intrusive ads or tracking behavior, allowing me to enjoy my stargazing experience without interruptions. Overall, I feel secure using Stellarium Mobile, knowing that my personal information is protected while I explore the wonders of the night sky.

I have bought the paid version and I am quite pleased with the performance and accuracy of the app. I am very new to astronomy as such, but finding items I read about in the news and podcasts is pretty cool. The only thing I can take issue with is the names of the events or sky items are always different from the identity names used in the app. And I think that is the news media's problem, not the apps. Besides I just do a little more research and learn a lot more about what I am looking for.

IMO, Stellarium is the best Astronomy software there is. Real-time navigation just pointing up to the night sky, with an immense database of stars and objects. One thing I'd like to see implemented in this app is when selecting a multiple star, it would be great to have the separation in arc seconds displayed in the description - instead of having to go to Wikipedia.

I LOVE this app! I love the search option and the view that lets you see your surroundings in relation to the constellations. I love being able to customize what shows up while I look at what's around. I use it so much that I can identify every single constellation visible from my house all year round, without the app. Can't recommend enough!

I had this app for years. When the developer went "public" and asked for money for a pro version, I was disappointed. I stayed with the free version and have only good things to say. the app has all the features I need and it continues to update and improve. No ads - thank you. I'm happy to donate. I'm also using the desktop version of the program.

Quite literally what I need and for free, I like a lot of the features on this map with "Night mode," my personal favorite. The only problem I found is that when you zoom in on a star and move around, you do have a chance of flashbanging yourself. Easy thing to mitigate.
