4.8 Stellarium Plus - Star Map is a remarkable app that brings the universe to your fingertips. With its stunning visuals and user-friendly interface, it’s perfect for both amateur stargazers and seasoned astronomers. Here are some of its standout features:
As someone who has always been fascinated by the night sky, I often find myself using Stellarium Plus in various scenarios. One of my favorite moments was during a family camping trip in the mountains. With minimal light pollution, the stars were incredibly bright. I pulled out my phone, opened Stellarium Plus, and pointed it at the sky. Instantly, I was able to identify constellations and planets, much to the delight of my kids, who were eager to learn about the universe. Another scenario was during a recent astronomy club meeting where I used the app to showcase the latest celestial events. The interactive features made it easy to engage with fellow members and share insights about what we could expect in the coming weeks.
The user interface of Stellarium Plus is intuitive and visually appealing. Upon launching the app, I was greeted with a stunning depiction of the night sky, complete with twinkling stars and vibrant planets. Navigating through the app is seamless; I could easily switch between different modes, such as the interactive star map and AR mode, with just a few taps. The performance is impressive, with quick loading times and smooth transitions, even when zooming in on distant celestial objects. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app not only enhances my stargazing sessions but also deepens my understanding of astronomy, making it a valuable tool for anyone interested in the cosmos.
Stellarium Plus is available for a reasonable subscription fee, which I found to be quite justifiable given the wealth of features it offers. The app provides a free trial period, allowing users to explore its capabilities before committing to a subscription. I appreciated this approach, as it gave me the chance to fully experience the app's functionalities without any financial risk. The pricing structure is competitive compared to other astronomy apps, making it accessible for both casual users and serious enthusiasts.
The developers of Stellarium Plus are committed to providing regular updates, which is evident in the app's continuous improvements and new features. I’ve noticed several updates since I started using the app, each enhancing the user experience and expanding the database of celestial objects. Additionally, the support team is responsive and helpful. I reached out with a question about a feature, and I received a prompt and informative reply, which reassured me that I could rely on them for assistance whenever needed.
When it comes to security and privacy, Stellarium Plus takes user concerns seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. Upon installation, I was pleased to find that the app does not require excessive personal data for registration, which is a significant plus for privacy-conscious users. There are no intrusive ads or tracking behavior that could compromise user privacy, allowing me to enjoy my stargazing experience without distractions. Overall, I feel confident using Stellarium Plus, knowing that my data is secure and my privacy is respected.

I had used the PC version of Stellarium years ago, and always found it to be overwhelming. I just bought this Android version to find the passing comet, and am amazed at how easy it is to use. The only thing that took me a while to figure out is how to get it to follow my phone again after zooming in - you just aim the phone straight up (this fact was probably shown in some tutorial box that I ignored...)

Very useful for astrophotography! Simple and so very informative about the night sky. It's the app I've been searching for all this time and I can't stop being on it just to learn everything I can about the cosmos. The only thing I would love to ask for is more photos of the galaxies and nebulae that we do have already photos of, and to be able to click and zoom in on those said photos. Per Aspera ad Astra!

I'm an old school "star-hopper" when wanting to find an object in the sky, using multiple binoculars & my telescope at the same time. This app is amazing with it's ability to be able to zoom in & out, & also provide many low-magnitude stars as your field of view shrinks. I also love being able to choose a star in a constellation & potentially get to learn it's name. It was very handy to have this app during the recent passing of comet Neowise in the sky (July 2020); Stellarium had its location!

Great Information, except the letters are too small to read unless you make the phone brighter, the process of which blasts your night vision. I find the 'upgraded" version (in the past year, I think) much more difficult to use. I can't figure out how to see several constellations in relation to each other. They fade away if you point a slightly different direction.

This is a great app for anyone interested in learning about astronomy. As some others have pointed out, I've had a little trouble with calibration, but it does work eventually. I also had the problem of the phone screen not tracking anymore when changing menu settings until it is pointed straight up, which isn't a big deal just annoying. I know quite a bit about astronomy but not much about constellations. This helped me learn much more about them. Great app and worth buying to support.
