4.5 Udemy is a powerhouse in the online learning space, offering a plethora of features that cater to diverse learning needs. Here are some of the standout highlights that make Udemy a go-to platform for learners worldwide:
My journey with Udemy began when I decided to pivot my career towards digital marketing. I was overwhelmed by the vast amount of information available online, but Udemy provided a structured approach. I enrolled in a comprehensive digital marketing course that covered everything from SEO to social media strategies. I would often find myself using the app during my lunch breaks at work, watching video lectures and taking notes. Additionally, I utilized the platform to learn graphic design skills for a side project, allowing me to create visually appealing content for my personal blog.
The user interface of the Udemy app is intuitive and user-friendly. Navigating through the course library is a breeze, thanks to well-organized categories and a powerful search function. Once enrolled in a course, the layout is clean, with easy access to video lectures, quizzes, and supplementary materials. I particularly appreciate the ability to download courses for offline viewing, which has been a game-changer during my travels. The video quality is excellent, and I’ve never experienced significant buffering issues, even on slower internet connections. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, as I feel empowered to learn at my own pace without feeling rushed.
Udemy's pricing model is quite flexible, with courses often available at discounted rates. I’ve seen courses priced anywhere from $10 to $200, depending on the subject and instructor. The frequent sales make it easy to find high-quality courses at affordable prices. Additionally, the option to preview courses before purchasing allows me to ensure that the content aligns with my learning goals, making the investment worthwhile.
Udemy regularly updates its courses to reflect the latest industry trends and practices, which I find incredibly beneficial. The support team is responsive and helpful; I once had an issue with accessing a course, and they resolved it within a few hours. The platform also encourages feedback, allowing users to rate courses and provide reviews, which helps maintain a high standard of quality across the board.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using online platforms like Udemy. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. During registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, such as my name and email address, which is standard practice. I appreciate that Udemy has a clear privacy policy outlining how my data is used and protected.
Moreover, I have not encountered any intrusive ads or excessive tracking behavior while using the app. The learning experience feels focused and uninterrupted, allowing me to concentrate on my courses without distractions. Overall, I feel secure using Udemy, knowing that my personal information is handled with care and that I can learn without compromising my privacy.

Very poor experience. Udemy’s prices seem to change constantly, sometimes minute to minute. Courses appeared to be included with the subscription, but after I paid for a full year, some required separate purchases. Support is mostly AI chat or email at their convenience. Refunds for subscriptions appear to be offered only where required by law. Very disappointing and feels misleading.

I had to create a new profile. It's still an amazing app and has a lot of free courses. Also $20 a month to access paid courses doesn't seem like a lot considering there's so many courses to access. I love Udemy, it's good to be back, and I'll pay for courses as I see fit and I might even get a monthly subscription at some point.

The instructors that post to this platform do good work. Platform support is disappointing. My wife accidentally bought a subscription on my account that was meant for her account. Udemy refused to transfer the account and refused to issue a refund "unless required by law" so she could buy the subscription on her account. I'm not angry, I'm incredibly disappointed. This could have been resolved easily, instead they've gotten their last dollar from us.

I haven't used the app all that much, but the videos and integrated quizzes are working well, and there are a lot of options for captions, suggested courses, etc. My main issue comes down to how scummy some of the sales tactics are in the app. It seems like they're constantly trying to get you to spend more money and threatening you with FOMO. Timers for discounts, dynamic pricing, etc. The app functions well and delivers the content, but the business methods are scummy and scammy.

The new personal plan is amazing for anyone looking to learn new skills and not break the bank. It's the equivalent of having a gym membership for you brain. Loving this platform. Update: there are way too many ads. Even after paying for a course and having their personal plan you get an ad after EVERY SINGLE Lesson. I can't take it anymore. I would much rather be charged more, than have my learning experience interrupted time and time again.
