4.2 DoorDash - Dasher is a powerful app designed for delivery drivers, or "Dashers," that streamlines the entire food delivery process. Here are some of its standout features:
As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling multiple responsibilities, and that's where the DoorDash - Dasher app comes into play. On weekdays, I typically dash during my lunch break. I can quickly log into the app, see which restaurants are busy, and choose to accept orders that fit my schedule. On weekends, I use the app to earn extra income while running errands. For example, I once dashed while waiting for my car to be serviced. I picked up a few orders, earning money while I waited, which made the time fly by.
The user interface of the DoorDash - Dasher app is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I am greeted with a clean dashboard that displays available orders, my earnings, and notifications. The workflow is straightforward; I can easily accept or decline orders with just a tap. The performance is generally smooth, with minimal lag, even during peak hours. I appreciate the detailed information provided for each order, including the estimated delivery time and distance. Overall, my experience has been positive, and I feel empowered to manage my time and earnings effectively.
DoorDash - Dasher does not charge any fees to its drivers, which is a significant advantage. Instead, Dashers earn money through delivery fees, tips, and promotions. The app also offers a feature called "Peak Pay," where drivers can earn extra during busy times. This flexible earning model allows me to maximize my income based on my availability and effort.
The app is regularly updated to improve functionality and user experience. I have noticed enhancements in navigation and order management over time. The support team is responsive and helpful, providing assistance through in-app chat or email. Whenever I have had questions or faced issues, I received prompt responses, which adds to my overall satisfaction with the service.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, including DoorDash - Dasher. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring it meets the necessary security standards. During registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, including my name, phone number, and bank details for direct deposits. I appreciate that the app has clear privacy policies outlining how my data is used and protected.
Moreover, DoorDash has implemented measures to minimize ads and tracking behavior. While the app does collect data to improve user experience, I have not encountered intrusive ads or excessive tracking, which is a relief. Overall, I feel secure using the DoorDash - Dasher app, knowing that my personal information is handled with care.

Spark was very smart to remove acceptance rate from driver rating, and I think Dasher should follow suit. I would Dash more often if I weren't forced to accept bad offers or suffer a poor rating. If it were possible to view multiple offers at once, each Dasher could pick orders that are best for their area, drive distance, preferred locations, etc. Instead, I'm given one offer at a time and threatened if I don't want it, even if it doesn't pay well or is an unreasonably far drive.

Lately, I've been having problems with not getting notifications for new orders (my acceptance rate just goes down), and the app doesn't end my dash when time runs out, it just keeps the dash going, but doesn't give me offers. Also, it's very slow to recognize when I enter the area sometimes taking 10 min+ to do so. Much better a year ago. Whether or not I even get a notification (or a text), or get it late, is 50/50. Warning, will rip you off on shopping! You won't get xtra pay 4 added items

If your offer is behind a military base checkpoint because by their policy, you can't make it to the store. They feel it's right for them to think it's not something they can compensate you for when you have to derive more than 5 miles to get there. they even have a place in your preferences to check off if you have a military ID or not which I don't. so, this shouldn't have been an experience that I had yet it was. Do better or the law will catch up with you!

This is the worst app ever. It crashes constantly, ends dashes when the driver is still driving, and driver support is terrible. ETA: I originally wrote this review in 2022 and nothing has changed. I just lost a dash because I changed my start time to 30 minutes later than originally scheduled so I could have a shower and some food and I hit save and it appeared to save but didn't actually save. This has happened to me and my partner multiple times. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Latest update is junk. Instead of multiple shopping orders being in one list, you now have to jump between orders in order to see the items. Not very efficient. I also had no choice but to add my red card to my Google Wallet account before allowing me to shop the order. I don't like that because it's very easy to mistakenly use a personal card. Also, the new scheduling screen is horrible. Not user friendly at all.
